A Step Above Dance Studio is more than a place to take dance classes — it’s a place families quickly begin to call their second home. We are proud to offer high-quality dance education for toddlers, children, and teens in Lima, Ohio, while building a welcoming community that parents and dancers love being part of. Our studio features two bright, inspiring dance rooms, an organized student lobby, parent viewing windows, and a comfortable seating area where families can relax and connect while their child is in class. Our instructors are passionate lifelong learners who continually grow in their craft so they can pour that knowledge and inspiration into every dancer they teach. Most importantly, our students are encouraged to embrace who they are as individuals and use that to develop their own artistry and confidence. Whether they are 2 or 18, dancers leave A Step Above feeling fulfilled, empowered, and proud of themselves.

New Skills UNLOCKED!!

We’re LEVELING UP!!

4 students in Advanced Tumble scored New Unassisted Skills!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

This progression is HUGE this early in the season!!

Gaining a skill unassisted means quite a few things!

First they attempted their skill unassisted in front of their peers with 3 successful attempts. They don’t have to be mastered, they don’t have to even be pretty! They simply have to be done without assistance and start to finish, successful. No falling out. 3 Times in a row.

This shows immense confidence in themselves and their own ability!!🥹

Secondly, they get to start learning the next progression skill while learning to master the new skill they just gained!

Doing a skill unassisted is the biggest win!

Each student CHOOSES to do this, and that means Ms. Ann steps back, off the mat and watches…(cue proud tears).

I typically know they’re ready well before they choose to attempt, so when the moment happens goodness does it ever just make my heart so proud of each of them!! This is why I pour into each and every student…so they learn to see what I see, in themselves.

Confidence.

Strength.

Bravery.

Self Control.

Focus.

…and they get to choose when they’re ready.

❤️ Ms Ann is so proud!
