Huskers to Hold Preseason Event for Fans

Nebraska's freshmen Leigha Brown (32), Sam Haiby (4), Ashtyn Veerbeek (13) and Kayla Mershon are expected to participate in Nebraska's free open practice on Tuesday, Oct. 23.

The Nebraska women's basketball team invites fans to an open practice for the public at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Tuesday, Oct. 23.

Admission to the event is free and tip-off for the Huskers' open practice is set for 6 p.m. The event will last approximately two hours.

The open preseason practice will give fans their first chance to see the 2018-19 Huskers on the court, while Big Ten Coach-of-the-Year Amy Williams leads the practice.

The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a free T-shirt, and Nebraska players will be available for autographs following practice.

The women's basketball team's preseason event precedes men's basketball's Husker Hoops Preview at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Wednesday, Oct. 24.

Nebraska will play its only women's basketball exhibition game against Nebraska-Kearney at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Saturday, Nov. 3. The Huskers' regular-season schedule opens with 2018 NCAA Tournament qualifier and Summit League champion Drake at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 7.
