SECTION #1 — TRACK & SAFETY INFRASTRUCTURE

The countdown to November 1st is on.

Over the next 10 days, we're going to unveil 10 different areas where businesses, contractors, racers, fans, community organizations and volunteers can help us build the next generation of Marysville Raceway Park.

Some needs are big. Some are small.

Some require financial sponsorship. Others require materials, equipment, professional services or skilled trades.

And some simply require people willing to show up, roll up their sleeves and help.

THE 10 MRP IMPROVEMENT SECTIONS

Track & Safety Infrastructure

Lighting & Electrical

Track Preparation & Heavy Equipment

Concessions & Food Service

Grandstands & Fan Experience

Parking, Roads & Grounds

Restrooms & Facility Improvements

Race Operations & Technology

Safety, Fire & Emergency Services

Volunteer & Skilled-Trade Opportunities

We'll unveil one section each day as we get closer to November 1st.

And we're starting with what we believe should always come first:

SAFETY.

SECTION #1 — TRACK & SAFETY INFRASTRUCTURE

Our needs include:

• K-Rail / concrete safety barriers
• Steel guardrail, posts and hardware
• Catch-fence pipe and safety fencing
• 1/2-inch catch-fence cable and hardware
• Perimeter and pit-area fencing
• Spectator separation fencing
• Entrance, exit and crossover gates
• Concrete and rebar
• Welding and fabrication materials
• Safety signage and barricades
• Emergency and scene lighting
• Radios and communications equipment
• Fire, first-aid and spill-response equipment

We're also looking for fencing contractors, welders, fabricators, concrete contractors, equipment operators, trucking companies, material suppliers and volunteers.

Cash isn't the only way to help.

Surplus materials, discounted materials, donated equipment, equipment use, professional services, skilled labor and volunteer time can all help move MRP forward.

NOVEMBER 1ST — DAY ONE

10:00 AM

This is where the work begins.

TURNS 1 & 2 — CATCH FENCE

Our first priority will be removing the existing catch fencing in Turns 1 & 2 and beginning the rebuild.

The plan includes:

• Remove the existing catch fence
• Increase the fence height approximately 5 feet 3 inches
• Add approximately 4–5 additional rows of 1/2-inch safety cable
• Install new catch-fence material
• Inspect and improve supporting structure and hardware as necessary

TRACK & INFIELD

At the same time, another crew will begin working on the infield and track configuration:

• Remove the infield tires
• Grade the infield water-truck lane flat and level
• Reshape the infield edge of both corners
• Prepare the track for the next phase of reshaping
• Begin preparing for changes to the track surface, banking and saucer

This will be the beginning of a much larger track-preparation project.

GRANDSTANDS & FACILITY CLEANUP

We will also have plenty of work for volunteers who don't operate equipment or swing a welding hood.

Crews can begin working on both the pit-side and main grandstand areas:

• Remove accumulated dirt and debris from underneath the grandstands
• General cleanup of grandstand and spectator areas
• Pressure wash, weather permitting
• Inspect aluminum seating
• Inspect wood seating
• Inspect handrails
• Inspect stairs and walkways
• Identify damaged or unsafe areas needing repair
• Create a repair list for the next phase of improvements

You don't need to own a construction company to be part of this.

If you can sweep, shovel, pressure wash, carry materials, clean, inspect, organize or simply lend another set of hands, there will be something to do.

NOVEMBER 1ST • 10:00 AM

Bring your work gloves.

Bring your skills.

Bring your equipment if you've talked with us about something we need.

Bring a friend.

Most importantly, bring your ideas and your willingness to help.

This isn't going to happen overnight, and we're not pretending it will.

But on November 1st, we start.

If your company can help with materials, equipment, services or sponsorship, or you'd simply like to volunteer, reach out to MRP.

And if you know a business or tradesperson who belongs on this project, tag them below or share this post with them.

Tomorrow we'll unveil:

Ever wonder why tempers can get so high at a dirt track?

Because when we roll onto that track, winning and losing aren’t the only things at stake.

You have a car. A chassis you need to protect and a frame you need to keep straight. A body you either spent days putting on yourself or paid good money for. A wrap that’s in one piece, and once you tear it up, you might wear that scar for the rest of the season.

Tires that somehow get more expensive every time you need another one. 😂

An engine you pieced together, saved for, or spent your hard-earned money on. Maybe you planned it out with an engine builder and waited months just to get your turn.

And yeah… your ego is out there too.

One spin from somebody losing control can cost you a lot more than a position. It can cost you the entire night, a bent frame, damaged suspension, torn-up body panels, hundreds or thousands of dollars, and every evening the next week spent in the shop trying to put it all back together.

Parts fail. That’s racing.

People make mistakes. That’s racing too.

And sometimes YOU are the one who screws up.

That’s probably the hardest part.

Then you have to suck it up, tuck your tail between your legs, walk into another driver’s pit and say, “That was on me. I’m sorry.”

You offer to help fix it. Sometimes you offer to help pay for it. Because if the roles were reversed, that’s the respect you’d want from them.

That’s why emotions run high at a racetrack.

We’re all racing hard. We all want to win. And every one of us is trying to protect something we’ve put a ridiculous amount of time, money, work and heart into.

You can be mad. You can disagree. You can race somebody hard.

But you also have to know when you were wrong and own it.

Because an enemy on the track can become your worst nightmare.

So race hard. Own your mistakes. Show some respect.

And maybe try not to make enemies with people driving 3,000-pound race cars. 😂🏁

BUILT HERE. RACING HERE.

🏁 MARYSVILLE NATIONALS — SEASON FINALE (Saturday night videos in comments)

September 18th & 19th brought us to Marysville for our final race weekend of the 2026 season. To say we didn’t exactly end on a high note would be an understatement. 😅 Three of the four cars rolled or should we say limped into the trailer broken and hurt. But thankfully, the weekend had some BIG positives, especially for Elijah!

FRIDAY NIGHT

Dylan’s night got off to a rough start when his motor blew during his heat race.

Elijah’s motor was also starting to show signs of trouble during his heat, but he pushed through to finish 4th, transferring directly to the A Main. After many conversations, the boys decided to push the car into the main and run it until it simply wouldn’t run anymore.

Our Friday night goal is always a Top 10, which automatically puts us into Saturday’s A Main—and somehow, Elijah’s motor held together until the checkered flag! 🏁 He finished a strong 9th!

Unfortunately, Dylan’s night ended in the heat race, meaning he would have to work his way through heats and a B Main on Saturday.

Brenden drew the 99 pill, putting him starting at the back of Heat 4. He charged forward to finish 2nd, transferring to the A Main starting 9th and finishing an awesome 4th!

Cody started 4th in his heat and finished 4th, unfortunately missing the transfer by just ONE spot. 😬 That sent him to the B Main, where he started 2nd and WON, putting him 16th for the A Main. He worked his way forward and finished 14th!

And in the middle of all that racing was happening, it was all hands on deck getting Dylan’s motor pulled.

Finally, around 3:00 AM, both Dylan and Elijah’s motors were out of the cars. Unfortunately, we only had one spare motor. But fortunately, we have an amazing racing family. ❤️

A HUGE thank you to Dave and David Hays for allowing us to borrow a motor that was already at the track. We truly appreciate you stepping up when we needed it!

SATURDAY

Bright and early Saturday morning, the work began. Motor parts needed to be swapped, everything needed to go back together, and somehow we had to get these cars ready to race again.

By Saturday afternoon, the motors were back in and running. A couple little hiccups, but we were ready to go!

🏁 SATURDAY NIGHT

Elijah pulled the 9 pill for the Fast Dash and finished 8th, putting him 8th in the A Main.

And then he put on a SHOW. 🔥

Starting 8th, Elijah drove his way forward to finish a HUGE 3rd PLACE! 🥉

What a way to finish the season for our youngest driver! After everything this season has thrown at him, watching him continue to improve and finish the Nationals with a podium was pretty damn special. ❤️

Brenden pulled the 5 pill for his Fast Dash and finished 5th, putting him 5th for the A Main.

Unfortunately, on Lap 4 in the main, B had nowhere to go and ended up flipping, bringing his night to an early end. Thankfully, the car did its job and protected him.

Dylan finished 3rd in his heat, putting him 7th in the B Main. Unfortunately, with about 8 laps to go, a series of unfortunate events ended his night. He spun and then was hit full speed on the left side by another car, quickly ending his night.

Cody started 7th in his heat and finished 7th, then started 13th in the B Main and drove his way to a 3rd-place finish!

That put him starting 13th in the A Main. Unfortunately, around Lap 3, Cody spun to avoid another car that was spinning and broke the right front. He tried to get it repaired, but simply ran out of time.

It definitely wasn’t the ending we were hoping for. Three out of four cars came home damaged, and there’s going to be plenty of work waiting for us during the off-season.

But when you step back and look at the bigger picture, there’s still a LOT to be proud of.

Four brothers. Four cars. Countless late nights, early mornings, broken parts, victories, disappointments, laughs, frustrations, and memories.

And most importantly, four drivers who came home safe. The cars took the hits and did their job protecting our boys—and that’s what matters most.

Now we have a whole off-season to assess the damage, rebuild, regroup, and get ready to do it all over again.

2026, you were one hell of a ride. 🏁

Thank you to everyone who supported ShrumBros Racing this season, our sponsors, family, friends, crew, and everyone who cheered us on from the stands or followed along from home.

See you in 2027. 🏁🔥

🏁 Friday Night Race Recap 🏁

Friday night was definitely a little rough on the equipment, TWO blown motors will do that!

But there were definitely some positives! 🙌 Brenden and Elijah both made it into the Fast Dash, putting themselves in a great position for Saturday night. 🏁🔥

Unfortunately, the night didn’t go exactly as planned, but that’s racing! Sometimes you win, sometimes you wrench. 🔧

We’ll regroup, assess the damage, and get ready to come back swinging. A huge thank you to our crew, sponsors, family, and everyone cheering on ShrumBros Racing. ❤️
