It was a great weekend of events in Omaha and a great honor for us to be one of the demonstrating dojos!

Last week we had the great honor of participating in a two day event in Omaha hosted by the Omaha Sister Cities Association.
On Saturday, Kaicho Tim Snyder was asked to share karate and Japanese culture with the boxers of the world famous B&B Sports Academy, the home of Terrence ‘Bud’ Crawford and Steven ‘So Cold’ Nelson.
Also, Shihan Maria Snyder and Diego Sterkel had a wonderful opportunity to exchange karate techniques with members of the Shizuoka Japan Karate Federation!

Student highlight of the week - Diego!
Diego is an outstanding young man currently studying at UNL. He competed in the State Games this year for the 2nd time and won 1st place gold medals in 3 divisions - Karate Kata, Kobudo Kata and Kumite for advanced adult brown belt divisions.
Diego is also studying Japanese language and spent a semester overseas in Japan taking class and teaching English. He is a fabulous role model to all of our students in beautiful manners and technique. He recently tested for Ni Kyu, brown belt with 2 black stripes and continues to train hard on his journey to black belt. Keep it up Diego!

Student highlight of the week - Chris and Fox! This is a father/son duo that train together and competed together in the State Games. They travel a long way to train with us and we really enjoy having them! Chris received the 1st place gold medal in karate kata and 2nd place in kumite.
Chris trained with us before he had Fox and when he came back, he decided to share karate with his son, which has been a great thing for them both! Thank you guys for training hard!

Student highlight of the week - Lyanna!
Lyanna is currently our youngest student who is not only sweet and cute, but also sharp and focused in her karate training!
She competed for the first time in karate kata this year at the State Games in a large division with older and higher ranking competitors. She won the 1st place Gold medal and we are so proud of her!
Not just for her performance, but for the way she sat respectfully throughout the entire event and the beautiful manners she demonstrates both inside and outside the dojo. 😊
Way to go Lyanna!

Student highlight of the week - Ryan and Britton!
Ryan and Britton are siblings and have been at the dojo for almost 2 years.
Ryan is a wonderful big sister and is always compassionate and showing beautiful manners to everyone she meets. She competed for the first time this year in the Cornhusker State Games in karate kata and received a 1st gold medal for her division.
Britton is a spirited young man who shows strength and intensity in his movement. He has grown a lot in his self control and discipline over the years. He also competed for the first in karate Kata and he received a silver medal in a large division with many competitors of higher level and experience.
We are so proud of the beautiful manners displayed by both of these young people and the excellence of their technique and spirit.
Next year, they plan to compete in more divisions, such as Kobudo Kara and kumite.
