Shotgun Sports at The University of Minnesota

The light at the end of the tunnel is almost here! With the return of students to campus, we are ready to get the team up and running again. It feels so good to be back on campus!

We will be kicking off the semester with two informational meetings this week on the 15th and 16th and hope to see new and old faces there! More information on these are in the photo below. If you have any questions at all please reach out to our email [email protected] .

We hope you all had an amazing first week of classes and to see you all soon.

This semester may not have been a normal one, but we are happy that we were able to get out on the range a few times. Our numbers were limited and but we made the most of it. We broke some clays, we tried new things, and we had fun while we were doing it.

As this semester winds down, we look forward to the spring with hope for good weather, good health, and the chance to break more clays together as a team. Until then, happy holidays and a happy new year!

Even with all of the closings, stay-at-home orders, and postponement of events, we still are moving forward with our original date for our raffle drawing. We've been following the COVID-19 pandemic and, with widespread University closures, stay-at-home orders, and non-essential business closures. After deliberation and research, Shotgun Sports at the U of M has decided to postpone Collegiate Clay Crush until Fall 2020. It was a difficult decision but one we feel is best for our team and community.

At this time, there are no dates set for the CCC in the fall. Keep an eye out for a post with these details to come in the next couple of weeks.

One of our spring competitions, Midwestern Thaw, has been postponed to Fall 2020. We plan to still shoot at the rescheduled dates, October 10th and 11th. We are excited to still have the opportunity to shoot at this fun event, and we will enjoy getting the opportunity to shoot as a team again next school year!

The competitive team is on their way home from the 2nd annual Tiger Invitational in Lincoln, Nebraska, hosted by Doane University. Thanks to Richard Marshall Jr for running a great shoot, and to Coach Paul Dietz for preparing us.

We’re looking forward to our next shoot: UMD’s Midwestern Spring Thaw in Alexandria, MN.

We’re at the Cabela’s in Owatonna promoting the team and selling some raffle tickets! Time is running out to get yours, so contact your favorite officer to get a ticket, or message us!

We are excited to announce our 2nd annual Collegiate Clay Crush!! It will be this April, 25-26. This is an event that brings together different teams from around the Midwest to take part in some friendly competition. It is open to all current college students. For more information, see the poster or message us ([email protected] or Messenger).

For anyone involved in a clay target team at your college, let us know your contact information via email ([email protected]) or through Messenger as we would love to host your team!

We hope to see new and returning faces this year to break clays and have a good time!

We are at the Brooklyn Park Fleet Farm today selling raffle tickets and promoting our club! If you are in the area, stop by, say hi, and take a look at what we have to offer. We are here until 3pm today!!

We will be back tomorrow from 12-3pm at the same place so feel free to come visit us then as well!!

Had a great turn out to our first spring informational meeting this evening! If you’re at the U and sad you missed it, no worries! We have another meeting tomorrow night (Friday 2/7) at 5pm in Ford 150. It will be an hour full of information and pizza so come on over!

These meetings mark the official start of our spring season. While we have a few more weeks before we expect to be back out on the range, we are very excited about everything this season has in store for us.
