Loose Lugs Racing

It was a long winter, and we've been too busy to post much, but 2018 is off to a great start after last weekend's racing at Gingerman. Unfortunately not many of our ITA friends could make it but the STL/STU/IT-everything group is always fun regardless! Despite a cold and rainy morning on Saturday, we ended up with a dry race in the afternoon. Sunday morning qualifying had ideal weather for good pace, with cool, dry air and a clean track. Another great Detroit SCCA Rallycross event yesterday! The morning course had several tight sections which combined with soft / muddy conditions made it quite challenging. The afternoon's course flowed much better and the surface was mostly dry. Matt Wolfe and I had another great battle for the win in the Stock FWD class, running very close times on all 8 runs. Matt tagged a few more cones which sent him home in 2nd.

Beautiful Fall morning for a Detroit SCCA RallyCross event.

Something different... had the opportunity for a last minute drive at the AER series event at Mid Ohio this past weekend. Too much to say in one post, but this car was huge amounts of fun to drive. Our day started out great, we were running good times and we were (somehow) the last car in our class to make the first pit stop, which would have allowed us to make the minimum pit stop requirement, worth 3-4 minutes or about 2 laps. This is the first part of my scheduled 2 hour stint, we had already suffered some issues and were pretty far back, but were working our way up past some other class cars and breakages. Unfortunately our day ended shortly after I got out due to an engine failure and we could not compete on Sunday. Fortunately all our drivers got a ton of good racing in before the failure.

Happy with the car after day 1, Rogers 6th, Ramos 7th. Car gets A+, drivers B-. Tomorrow is a new day and we will double check the torque on the nuts behind the wheel.

Wet, slick track this morning for qualifying at Mid Ohio. Woohoo!!

Racing hangover is strong after an awesome race at Mid Ohio with OVR SCCA! We ran in a tough 37 car race group with STU, STL, T4, and ITA/B/C. The battle for the ITA podium both Saturday and Sunday was again with Sean Grogan in the #37 yellow Neon and Jeff Mabrey in the #80 teal Civic, and were happy to come home with 2nd place and 1st place finishes. 2017 Mid Ohio Regional Sunday Race - J. Rogers ITA #55

Brought home some hardware this weekend! Finished 2nd in class / 4th overall in Saturday's race and 1st in class / 3rd overall in Sunday's race.

We were chasing down time all day Saturday and were able to put down a good lap in Sunday qualifying to start 3rd overall in the race and 1st in ITA, and led flag to flag, holding off Sean Grogan in the #37 yellow Neon and Jeff Mabrey in the #83 teal Civic.
