Let’s talk chain l**e.

Your bike chain shouldn’t sound like a haunted swing—or look like a tar pit. Too little l**e? Too much? Either way, your ride’s performance (and longevity) could be taking a hit.
🛑 Too Little?
That dry rattle or constant mouse squeak you hear on the road or trail; It’s your bike crying out for help. A dry chain wears out faster, shifts poorly, and can even damage your drivetrain over time.
🛑 Too Much?
On the flip side, we often see bikes come in with chains drenched in thick, dirty layers of l**e—and in some cases, it’s not even bike-specific l**e (looking at you, WD-40). That extra gunk attracts dirt, causes premature wear, and makes your bike look and feel sluggish.
✅ Just Right?
A properly l**ed chain should look clean and feel smooth. Use a bike-specific l**e, apply it sparingly to the inside of the chain while backpedaling, then wipe off the excess. It’s about lubrication—not saturation.
🔧 We recommend brands like Muc-Off, Finish Line, or Tri-Flow—all of which we carry in the shop. Whether you need something for wet conditions, dry dust, or everyday use, we’ve got the right option for your ride.

At Neverland, we do offer basic service for e-bikes—things like flat repairs, brake and gear adjustments, and part swaps. But we don’t service electrical systems or perform full tune-ups on e-bikes at this time.

Whether you're looking to commute, cruise, or explore, a traditional bike gives you freedom, reliability, and peace of mind—with fewer costs and complications along the way and might just be the smarter choice for you.

Shifting problems? Marty brought in his Bacchetta recumbent bike for a tune-up after having a tough time getting smooth gear changes.

During the service, we discovered the chain had been routed incorrectly through the bike’s two chain guides—likely a workaround by whoever installed it to make up for the chain being too long. Unfortunately, that fix caused more harm than good. The misrouted chain was rubbing against itself and the frame, creating shifting issues and even gouging the frame.

We got things back on track by properly routing the chain and removing three links to bring it to the correct length. That gave the derailleur the tension it needed and Marty a much smoother ride.
