On Sunday, August 30 we held our annual Gloria Gemma Golf Tournament Fundraiser. Running this event is a huge undertaking, and a big THANK YOU to Simone Dupuis and her Committee (Jackie, Ellen, Tracy, Lynn, and Amy) for their tireless efforts. The funds raised this year totaled $11,530 and everyone's generosity is greatly appreciated.

*Results - Men’s Gross Knockout Final*

Unlike the other 2 Finals today, the Men’s Gross Knockout didn’t have a sudden death playoff. Two off LCC’s greatest, Andrew Guerin and Luke Gallant, battled for the title on Hole #9. Congrats to Andrew Guerin for claiming the 2026 Men’s Gross Knockout title with a par on the last hole. Everyone who watched was surprised he elected to putt from the apron instead of chip. Thank you to Joe McCoart for officiating the Men’s Gross KO.

*Results - Men’s Net Knockout Finals*

The 9th Hole saw another sudden-death playoff as Chris Gould and Chris Marcet tied. The chip-off saw both players hit high pitches over the right greenside bunker, but Chris Gould’s shot landed softer and he took home the win. Congrats to Dr. Gould on being our 2026 Men’s Net Knockout winner. Thank you to Allen Wong and Eric Stager for officiated the Finals.

*Results - 2026 Ladies’ Knockout Finals*

It’s was a great afternoon for this year’s Knockout Finals. Heading into Hole #9, the two finalists were Anne Lessa and Karen Sullivan. After the completion of the hole, Anne and Karen were tied, and this forced the a sudden-death playoff. In the end, Karen Sullivan earned the 2026 Ladies’ Knockout Title. Thank you to all competitors, as well as Bruce MacDonald and Sally Dacosta for running the KO Finals.

It was an epic match, and in the end Luke Cavanaugh defeated Josh Bergeron (1 Up). This is Luke’s 2nd consecutive LCC Junior Championship. Luke now heads into his senior year at LHS and will be focusing on football this fall (and some golf); Josh heads off to prep school soon for basketball (and hopefully some golf). As their high school golf coach, I couldn’t be more proud of these two fine young gentlemen.

Yesterday was the annual Family Day at the Club. This day starts with Club Championship Finals matches which are followed by a cookout, awards ceremony, and family activities. The inclement weather was a factor, and forced a 2 hour & 45 minute delay in play. Thank you to our Greens Superintendent and the numerous club members who helped prepare the course for play once the rain subsided. Congratulations to our 2026 LCC Club Champion and Runner-Ups: Brenden Guerin def. Brent Resnik (3 & 2 in the Men’s Championship Flight), Jeanne McMath def. The Finals of the 2026 Men’s Senior Club Championship were contested today. Our four Finalists were: Bob Walsh, Paul Gusmini, Ted Sullivan, and Marcel Pontbriand. In the Championship Flight, Walsh bested Gusmini in 19 Holes, and Sullivan defeated Pontbriand 3&2 to take the Net Flight. Congrats to our winners and thank you to all competitors.

What a fantastic afternoon for the 2nd Annual LCC Women’s Solheim Cup. The 32 competitors have been assigned to either Team USA or Team Europe. Each match has been divided into 3 segments (Best Ball, Scramble, and Alternate Shot), and each segment is worth 1 point. The first team to 12.5 points wins the Cup!
