It is a BIG race week for several of our club members! Help us cheer them on as they take on the Arkansas Traveller 100 Mile! The race kicks off at 6:00 am on Saturday Oct. 3rd and will take these runners between 17 and 30 hours! You’ve done the hard work, now it’s time to have a Good Time Running (after the taper tantrums, of course)! Good luck to all of you and we look forward to celebrating with you! 🙌🏻

Some of our team after the The Great 5K Pumpkin Run Event race in Lonoke this morning! It was a Roadrunner sweep with the first 3 overall men: 1st place 🥇 Avery Bryant, 2nd 🥈 Ian McFarland, 3rd 🥉 Keith Clements, and 2nd place female 🥈 Anne Bryant and 3rd🥉 Nicole Hobbs, along with lots of age group winners, including an impressive finish by 11 year-old Eli McFarland, who was 7th overall male! Congratulations to all who ran! Only 3 more Grand Prix races to go!

This Saturday is the Big Dam Bridge 100 Cycling Tour and there are some road closures in effect. Please see details below. Portions of the River Trail will be inaccessible so be sure to plan your runs accordingly! Better yet, join us at our Coffee Run from Mugs at 7:00 am!

We will be out at War Memorial Park tomorrow morning volunteering for the largest XC meet in Central Arkansas! 🚨 BEGGING FOR HELP AGAIN! 🚨

I know I’ve asked before… and I promise I wouldn’t ask again if we didn’t really need you. ❤️

We still have a few important spots to fill for the Arkansas Traveller 100, and these are the ones we REALLY need help with:

🌙 LAKE WINONA AID STATION
We especially need folks who are willing to work the night hours. The good news? You do NOT have to stay for the entire duration of the station! If you can come in for the night portion, that would be a HUGE help to Beverly and Hobby. Signing up for this duty does not commit you to working the full duration that the station is open.

🌲 PIG TRAIL AID STATION
George needs two more people at Pig Trail. And bonus: Pig Trail is just up the road from Lake Winona, so if you’re already thinking about helping at Winona, you could easily help at both!

🚐 DROP SHUTTLE — MIDNIGHT–8:00 AM
This is honestly a really fun job! You get a walkie-talkie, help runners when they need a ride, cruise around the forest roads… and you get to listen to Thomas' Dad jokes all night long. 😂
We already have one wonderful soul from Toyota Trucks of AR signed up for this shift, but we really need TWO MORE PEOPLE so we have enough drivers to rotate out and get some sleep.
And YES — we have cabins at the Start/Finish specifically designated for napping. 😴 So if you have a vehicle that can handle the dirt roads and can transport at least 4 people at a time - We Really, Really Need You!! ⛽💲 I will give you gas money!

If you can help with any of these, even if you can only cover part of a shift, PLEASE let me know. Every person makes a difference, and every volunteer helps us take better care of our runners.
Volunteers are the heart of the Traveller. ❤️

Today we’re celebrating two very special people who have given decades to our club, the Capital City Classic 10k, and the entire Arkansas running community!

Bill Torrey, our Capital City Classic Race Director for an incredible 34 years, is celebrating his birthday today!

Linda House, our volunteer extraordinaire, is also celebrating her birthday! Linda has volunteered for all 34 of those years and previously served as Race Director herself.

We’re pretty sure both of these legends would agree that getting as many people as possible signed up for the 2027 Capital City Classic would make the perfect birthday present! 😜

Help us wish Bill and Linda a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! And while you’re at it, take advantage of our Early Bird 10K pricing before it expires Monday at midnight!

Scenes from this morning’s ARK 5K Classic! Our team had a strong showing, including first place overall female, 14-year-old phenom Tessa Corbitt and 2nd overall Hannah Cutshall! Congratulations to everyone who finished, including long-time Roadrunner Linda House, the ONLY person who has completed every ARK 5K since its inception 45 YEARS ago! Finishing was winning today, as it was HOT HOT HOT out there!
