Capital City Classic 10k

If you’ve got a high school runner wanting to improve this summer, check out this out! This is an incredible opportunity for high school athletes looking to take the next step in cross country!

The Arkansas Track is hosting a cross country camp June 22-26 in Northwest Arkansas for athletes entering grades 9-12. Campers will get instruction on training, nutrition, injury prevention, racing strategy, and more — plus the chance to learn directly from collegiate and professional athletes.

Two familiar Capital City Classic names are helping make it happen:
🔥 Erin Warren — 2x Capital City Classic champion and 5th place finisher in 2026
🔥 Megan Taylor — 6th place finisher at the 2026 Capital City Classic

Both are part of ATRC and helping invest in the next generation of Arkansas distance runners.

Bounds continues to shine on the national stage—breaking her own T20 5000m world record at the Drake Relays and earning USA Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors.

Breaking her own women’s T20 Para Athletics world record* in the 5000, Kaitlin Bounds earned recognition as the 16th USATF Athlete of the Week award winner for 2026 🏅

A 2024 Paralympian in Paris, Bounds broke her own 🌎 mark in the 5000 at the Drake Relays, running 17:10.37 to better the time of 17:10.74 that she set last year at Drake. 👏
