It’s been a lot of fun to do some groundwork with our more advanced pairs over the last few weeks. We love the success under saddle that our students and horses have together. But, a lifetime relationship with your horse starts on the ground. Mia and Kingston did a fabulous job the other day!

We are sad to share the news of Tango’s passing last week.

Tango was a constant joy. He had the kindest demeanor, the gentlest step and the softest nose. He was a rare gem that he was able to be trusted with riders on their first ride, but could pack around more advanced students. From easy walk trot, to performing lateral movements from the touch of the leg, he was a special horse.

He was lovingly surrounded by our staff when it was time. Always a big thanks to for their attention and care. Thank you to Kathryn and her mom for sharing him with us all these years. And thank you to our students, past and present, who have loved Tango over the 10 years (I think) we’ve had him in our family.

There was no steadier dance partner than Tango ❤️

Congratulations to our Nashoba Valley Equestrian Team on an amazing show at AEL Nationals! 🎉

Our team spirit, sportsmanship and camaraderie made for an amazing weekend of competition! We also loved seeing our friends (both riders and coaches) from other teams for the whole weekend!

Congratulations to all of our qualified riders who competed: Ishani, Annabel, Annika, Arianna, Autumn, Sarah, Eleanor, Ella and Victoria. Everyone’s rides were fantastic. Everyone RODE, and we were so proud!

Victoria: 9th overall in the Medal
Ella: 8th place overall in Novice

Thank you to the horse providers for sharing your horses! 🐴

While we’ll miss competing in AEL for the summer, we are looking forward to a break before the fall season starts up again.

🤔 Why isn’t Kirk wearing a blanket?

Don’t worry, he’s perfectly cozy underneath his coat🧥 Kirk doesn’t wear blankets (yet!) because he is perfectly acclimatized to the New England weather since he’s been born.

There are a lot of factors that go into whether or not to blanket a horse, but in Kirk’s case…
✔️ he lives inside at night
✔️ he’s never been clipped
✔️ he’s in excellent health and is young
✔️ we wouldn’t turn him out in weather that is considered unsafe (blizzard, hail, etc)

So for all those reasons, we are letting him continue to grow his coat naturally and maintain a perfect internal temperature 🌡️

Did you know horses coats are designed to drain water away from their backs? Their natural coats are naturally evolved to keep them dry and warm!
