Cannon fires 61 for new SCC course record !!

Carter Cannon now holds the Suwannee CC course record by himself. He previously held the record with a 62 a long with Will Bozeman.
Cannon returned to his home course from a two week absence, starting college at Lake Sumpter State College, and preparing for their season.
Playing with his dad Jason Cannon, and Matt Scott, Fain Skinner, Clay Hackney, and Jeff Hackney.
Carter stated that it was an incredible round that could have been even better.
He missed a few short birdie putts, and down the stretch had a bogey on hole #17.
A big congrats Carter, and we all hope you have a great season at Lake Sumpter. Carters first college tournament is in 3 weeks.

2026 Live Oak Open coming up very quick !

The biggest event of the year is creeping up on us. If you not signed up your 2-person team, please stop in or give us a call at 362-1147.
The event is a 2 day best ball format, flighted with handicaps, with lunch and drinks provided both days.
Spots are going fast, so please get your winning team signed up.
The dates are September 19th and Sept 20th. You can choose either an 8:00 AM or 1:00 PM start time.
On Friday night at 5:00 PM, a 10 person shootout will take place with some of the best players of SCC. Come out and and be a part of the Poole Realty Shootout !
Spectator carts will be available for rent, on a first come, first serve basis.
Don’t be left out of one of the biggest events around North Florida !

SHS Football/Abercrombie Event A Great Success !

The Annual SHS Football program and The Tommy Abercrombie golf scramble took place today with a full field of participants. Everyone had a fantastic time, with great weather,food, and some super golf being played.
Low gross team members consisted of Jason Cannon,Carter Cannon, and Ty Hurst with a great score of 57 ( no mulligans ! ). Pictured with the winners are Hunter Abercrombie and Coach Kyler Hall.
Winning low net honors with a score of 51 were Sam Wainwright,Savanah White, and Re*****on Deas.
Ty Hurst was a triple winner, notching the closet to the pin on 5/14, and longest drive on 7/16.
Congrats to all the winners,and thank you to all the players, sponsors, and anyone who helped make this event such a huge success.

Happy 86th birthday to longtime employee, member, friend, and just an overall great guy, Bill Sivik !
Bill celebrated this historic milestone with all his golfing buddies from the “our gang “ group, a group he ran for about 25 years. And, it just so turns out, Bill won the 18 hole scramble, and won the closest to the hole award on #5 !!
Great job Bill, and we all look forward to spending more birthdays with you, and, “your gang “.

Cannon shoots 65…. 2026 Match Play Club Champion !

In 8 days, Carter Cannon will head off to Lake Sumter State College to begin the next chapter in his golfing career.
But before that happens, he had one more thing to do at SCC. Carter played in the finals of the Match Play club Championship against Rod Webber. He won the final three holes of the match and won on the 19th hole in a very well played match for both players.
Carter fired a fantastic 65 on the 18 holes to get it to the 19th hole and the victory. It was a great way to give him even more confidence, as he showed that Lake Sumter made the right choice in the full scholarship that they offered him to play at their school !
Congrats Carter on the big win, and GOOD LUCK at Lake Sumter.

America 250 Red, White, and Blue tournament a gigantic success !!

A very unusual type of event was held today at SCC. A tournament conceived by local attorney Jimmy Prevatt many years ago, came to fruition today to benefit Steven Danaher, who is representing the USA in kickboxing in August. Steven will travel to Chili to compete with the other members of the USA squad against the other countries.
The format today featured teams of 3 playing a scramble, but they had to play 6 holes teeing off from the reds, 6 from the white tees, and 6 from the blue. It was their choice of what holes they would pick to do this. Doing it better than all the others, winning first place gross with a 57, was the team of Devan Cameron, Mason Cameron, and Preston Fletcher. Garnering first in the low net portion was the team of Jonathon Ward, Hunter Koon, and Cory Jarmillo.
We would like to thank all the players, sponsors, helpers, and anyone who had anything to do with this superb event.
We also want to wish Steven good luck in Chili, as he tries to bring back the gold to the United States!

Vivid Visions/Ryan Donaldson Event A Huge Success !

The weather held off just long enough for all players to complete their rounds, and a great event for a great cause is now in the books !
The golf was good, the food was awesome, and the fellowship among the players was even better. All came together to support all the work Vivid Visions is doing, and has done, to help stamp out domestic abuse. This is the third annual event, and they are planning to do it in 2027 and for many years to come. Thank you for all your support for a great event.
Winning low gross was the “young team” consisting of Ty Hurst, Carter Cannon, and Cooper Hackney with an amazing score of 58.
Winning low net was a “slightly” older th*****me with Rod Webber, Jack Moran, and Jerry Upchurch with a nice score of 52.

Happy Birthday Joe Flanagan !

Joe Flanagan celebrated his 74th birthday with all of his golfing friends today at SCC. Joe plays every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with a very fun group of members, who are here to enjoy the fellowship, and play a bit of golf too. Joe has been a member of the club for many years, and has served on the board for the last 13 years. You will not find a friendlier or happier person at the club, or really anywhere. For those of you have had the pleasure of knowing him, or been around him at all, you know what I am talking about.
We all wish him a very Happy Birthday, with many, many more to come !

Rotary Club in the books for 2026 !

The Live Oak Rotary Club held their annual scramble yesterday at SCC, with some of the best weather of the year. The temperature was perfect, the winds were almost non-existent, the food was great, and the scores were fantastic.
Winning first place for low gross was the high school contingent of Ty Hurst, William Slaughter, and Ryan Donaldson with a super 57.
First low net was the team of Clifford Bean, Kyle Gamble, and CJ Bean with a score of 50.
Closest to the pin winner was William Slaughter.
All look forward to the 2027 event next April. Thank you to the sponsors and to all who participated.
