In the fall of 2013 we merged with our partner organization, Operation Northern Comfort. Bernard Parish for distribution to needy kids and families.
We have also delivered 4 trailer loads of school supplies, musical instruments, books and athletic equipment, toys and games to St. In July 2008, the truck also contained 14 pianos and 3 organs. OSC initiated a project combining the forces of the Chalmette (LA) High School Chorus and Band; and the Liverpool (NY) HS Jazz Ensemble. Operation Northern Comfort has two jobs that are on hold because we need a plumber. We have worked to muck out and rebuild two houses, and are at the stage of redoing the kitchen and bathroom facilities, and are stymied.

JP Dumas was a treasured Operation Southern Comfort volunteer. He took several trips to the Gulf Coast; he was known for his hard work, friendliness and even disposition. He will be missed.
""John Paul Dumas, 77, of Clarkson Ave, Massena passed away peacefully, Monday morning (February 17, 2014) at the St Regis Nursing Home where he had been a resident for one year.
Family and friends are invited to call Thursday (February 20, 2014) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 12:00 noon at the Church of the Sacred Heart with Rev. Jack Downs presiding. Interment with full military honors will be held in the spring in Calvary Cemetery.""

The next major event on the Operation Northern Comfort schedule is the ONEIDA BLITZ - we will rebuild 4 homes in Oneida, starting now. All these homes were flooded and need extensive work. We expect to get ALL the residents back home before the Crawfish Festival. We'll be working weekdays, weekends and times in between.
