Botsford Pool

In case you missed it, Botsford Pool is now open for the season! Pool hours for summer 2024 are 1-7 p.m. Monday-Friday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays/Sundays June 8-Aug. 18.

Adult-only lap swim hours will run 5-7 p.m. Tuesday/Thursday during swim lessons.

All Aquatics information for Botsford, Clements Circle Splash Park, Shelden Pool and the two pools at the Kirksey Recreation Center can be found at Livonia.gov/407 and Livonia.gov/222 via LivoniaParks.org. Make sure to follow Livonia Parks and Recreation for more regular updates.

With the annual Shutdown Week coming up Aug. 28-Sept. 1 at the Kirksey Recreation Center, our Lap Pool at The Rec will take a little longer and will be unavailable Aug. 21-Sept. 1. The Leisure Pool will still be available this week, as will Clements Circle. Additional info is available at Livonia.gov/228.

Taking a dip in one of our many pools is a favorite summertime activity for our patrons, and many even enjoy it throughout the year at our indoor pools. How cool would it be to also work at the pools?

We’re actively hiring lifeguards. Blended learning certification courses are coming up Aug. 14-16, Sept. 16-17, 23-24, Oct. 14-15 and 21-22 at The Rec. Even though the outdoor pools won’t be open beyond Labor Day, we still have a large aquatics space with two indoor pools open year-round at the Kirksey Recreation Center.

Do you look at pools as a form of exercise? Do you enjoy swimming laps to get your heart rate up? The Kirksey Recreation Center has lap swim times throughout the week at our Lap Pool 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays-Fridays, 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturdays and 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sundays. During the summer, we also have lap swim times outdoors 5-7 p.m. Tuesdays/Thursdays at Botsford Pool, and then both 10 a.m. to noon Mondays-Thursdays and 5-8 p.m. Mondays-Fridays at Clements Circle Splash Park. These are great for any former competitive swimmers who still seek to swim the straightaway lanes, or even for a novice swimmer looking to enjoy some laid-back swimming within a lane.

Registration is open for our free outdoor swim lessons! New this year is that they’re open to ALL Livonia residents and no longer require proof of free or reduced lunch. Make sure your kiddos know how to swim.

Due to a stormy forecast this afternoon, all outdoor pools will be closed Wednesday, July 13. The indoor pools at the Kirksey Recreation Center will still be open and our 250-feet-long water slide will be open until 4 p.m.

Due to inclement weather, both Botsford Pool and Clements Circle Splash Park will be open from 4-6:45 p.m. today, Wednesday, July 6.
