Welcome to The Teal Yogi – where healing meets empowerment. 🌿✨
We specialize in trauma-sensitive yoga and meditation, offering a safe, supportive space to reconnect with your mind, body, and soul. Much like yoga, it embodies a balance between rejuvenation and serenity. Yoga offers us strength when we feel weak, community when we feel isolated, and a voice when we feel silenced. It heals the body when we are injured and supports the mind when we are struggling. Yoga is a journey to rediscover our true selves and feel whole again. At The Teal Yogi, we know how powerful that journey can be. We’re committed to providing a space where you can reconnect with your body and mind through thoughtful, trauma-sensitive practices. With anatomy-based, conscious movement techniques and meditative exercises, our classes are designed to support healing from physical and emotional trauma. Our mission is to empower each individual on their path to healing and self-discovery. Whether you're joining us for a group class, workshop, or private session, you’ll find a welcoming, safe space where healing meets empowerment.

Anyone else in the “wait… is THIS perimenopause?” stage of life? 🙋‍♀️

Maybe your sleep suddenly sucks. Your mood feels different. Your energy is unpredictable. Your cycle is changing. You can’t focus the way you used to—or you just don’t quite feel like yourself.

On Sunday, September 27 at 12 PM, we’re hosting Is This Perimenopause? at The Teal Yogi in Lockport.

It’s a 90-minute experience that combines education + gentle movement. Erin Lovingfoss of Loving Your Pause will walk through common symptoms, why they’re so often overlooked, and how to better advocate for yourself. Then Stephanie from The Teal Yogi will lead a gentle, grounding yoga practice.

No yoga experience is needed, and all props are provided.
If you’ve been wondering what the heck is happening with your body lately, this afternoon is for you. 💛

So why pair a conversation about perimenopause with yoga?

Because understanding what's happening in your body is important — but so is having an opportunity to actually reconnect with it.

After Erin of Loving Your Pause guides us through the educational portion of Is This Perimenopause?, Stephanie will lead a gentle, grounding yoga practice.

This isn't about flexibility, getting a workout in, or being “good” at yoga.

It's an opportunity to slow down, notice what you're feeling, breathe, move gently, and spend a little time supporting the body that's carrying you through all of these changes.

If you've never done yoga before, you're absolutely welcome. Everything you need will be waiting for you at the studio.

This crystal may look suspiciously like a yoga block, but its protective properties are unmatched. 😂

For those days when everyone needs something, your brain has 47 tabs open, and you’re one more request away from hiding under a blanket: you’re allowed to pause. You don’t have to wait until everything is handled before taking care of yourself.

What’s overwhelming you this week?

One of the most frustrating parts of perimenopause can be not knowing what's actually happening.

Is it hormones? Stress? Lack of sleep? Aging? Why do you suddenly feel different in a body you've lived in your entire life?

We wanted to create an experience where you don't have to figure all of that out alone.

On September 27, we're bringing together education, conversation, and gentle movement for Is This Perimenopause?

Erin of Loving Your Pause will help you better understand the changes that can happen during perimenopause, recognize symptoms that may have been easy to dismiss, and feel more prepared to advocate for yourself and ask for the care you need.

Afterward, Stephanie will guide a gentle practice focused on slowing down and reconnecting with your body.

Come with questions. Come curious. Come exactly as you are.

A whole day without carrying everyone’s mental load? We’re going. 😂

Tag the person you’d happily spend your responsibility-free day with. 👇

Bonus question: What are you doing first—taking a nap, booking a yoga class, or leaving the house before anyone can find you?

What does your birthday say about the way you reset? 👀

Maybe you need blankets and bolsters. Maybe you need to move, turn up the music, or disappear into comfy clothes with absolutely no plans.

Find your birthday, then tell us: did we get your reset style right? Send this to a friend to see what theirs says, too 💛

Hot flashes aren't the only sign of perimenopause.

Changes in sleep. Brain fog. Anxiety or mood changes. Fatigue. Changes in your cycle. Feeling different in your body without being able to put your finger on exactly why.

For many people, the first signs of perimenopause don't look anything like what they expected.

That's part of what we'll be talking about at Is This Perimenopause? on Sunday, September 27.

Erin of Loving Your Pause will guide us through a symptom check-in and an approachable conversation about what may be changing, why symptoms can be overlooked, and how to better advocate for yourself.

Then we'll move out of our heads and into our bodies with a gentle, grounding yoga practice led by Stephanie from The Teal Yogi.

No previous yoga experience is necessary.

Before you decide what you’re going to accomplish this fall, maybe there’s a better question to ask:
What do I need more of?

More rest? More movement? More strength? More quiet? More connection? More fun? More time that actually belongs to you?

We spend a lot of time thinking about what we should be doing and not nearly enough asking ourselves what would actually make life feel a little better.

So that’s your Sunday check-in.

No big explanation needed. Drop one word in the comments:
What do you need more of this fall? 🍂

Some days your practice feels strong.

Other days you lose your balance, forget which side you’re on and spend an impressive amount of time lying on a bolster. 😂

Both count.

Yoga doesn’t have to be the deepest stretch, the prettiest pose or the hardest version your body can manage that day. Sometimes the practice is noticing that you’re tired and choosing the block. Taking child’s pose. Moving slower. Or deciding that today, rest is enough.

You’re allowed to meet your body where it is instead of constantly asking it to meet you somewhere else.

Send this to someone who could use that reminder today. 💛
