Sad news to share today as our Lightning family mourns the loss of one of our dedicated fathers. Jay Cunio was our 12U teams GameChanger dad last year and a really good person. His family played for the Lightning the last 3 seasons and they could really use our support. If you can help in anyway please do, the link is below. Our thoughts are with the Cunio family.

🥎 Free 8U Sandlot Softball Session – Try It This Saturday!

Looking for a fun, low-pressure way for your player to enjoy softball this fall? LAFA is opening up our 8U Sandlot Saturday Games to all eligible players including friends and families from neighboring communities!

Come test it out tomorrow with zero commitment. If your player has a blast, you can officially register them for the rest of the fall season next week.

Event Details

When: Saturdays, 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM (Starts tomorrow!)

Where: Forrest Field at the LAFA Complex on Sargent Road in Londonderry, NH

Who: All 8U-eligible players born between September 1, 2017 and August 31, 2019 (open to local and neighboring town residents)

Cost: Free to try tomorrow

How Sandlot Style Works

Pregame Warmup: 3 fun skill stations focused on hitting and fielding.

Fair & Fun Matchups: All players toss their gloves onto home plate, and coaches divide them into two balanced teams.

Player-Friendly Batting: We use a pitching machine (transitioning to coach pitch after 4 pitches, and a tee after 4 coach pitches) so every player gets a chance to make contact and build confidence.

Game Time: Scrimmage wraps up right at 4:00 PM.

🥎 Finalize Your Fall Plans! 8U Sandlot Softball registration is almost closed. 🥎

We are gearing up for a fantastic season on the diamond, but we must finalize all teams by MONDAY. If you want your child to play, you need to register this weekend!

This program (Saturdays 2:30–4:00 PM) combines 30 minutes of pregame station work with a full hour of old-school sandlot softball. It's the perfect way to build skills and enjoy the game. Open to all players born between Sep 1, 2017, and Aug 31, 2019 including those from neighboring towns!
