Tutu School Long Beach

Every Christmas, my daughter and I watch The Nutcracker. 🎄 One year, we watched it three times(!) and supported as many local dance companies and friends of Tutu School in the ballet world. 🩰 We still can't figure out how the snowflakes never trip during a blizzard of snow ❄️ at the end of Act 1 (and how well they clean it all up during intermission), and how it amazing it is that the Sugar Plum Fairy can make her way across the stage through dozens of chaîné turns without getting dizzy. "This year's Clara is so expressive!" "Why is Fritz taller than normal?"

It's the same story, and the same show. And every year somehow we find something new to ooh and ah about. It's our thing, and I love how she and I have this tradition we look forward to every holiday season. ❤️ 💚

Hello! I don't recall ever introducing myself properly, and I'm sorry it took this long.

I am Tracy Gonzalez, owner of Tutu School Long Beach. My Tutu School journey began in 2014 when I had two young kids under five and I realized the 9-5 no longer worked for me. If I were to spend time away from my little ones, it had to be for something worthwhile that fulfilled me.

Eight years and eight locations (and counting...) later, that leap was the best decision I've made for myself and my family. While we teach ballet at Tutu School, our purpose goes beyond dance... it's JOY 💛. We provide a safe and loving space where children can freely express who they are, and find that spark of confidence within themselves that will take them far and beyond.

A few things about me:

🩰 I now have a teen and a tween. One is a in travel baseball, and the other is in competitive dance. I am basically an after-school personal chauffeur.

🩰 What started as a personal endeavor is now a family business. My husband and partner makes sure all our studios are always in tiptop shape, while my children do many little things from sticking retail tags to tutus to handing out performance gifts at recitals. Gotta learn the value of good, honest work at a young age!

🩰 I love wining and dining, traveling and napping! My kids constantly make fun of me for that last one. They don't know what they're missing. 😴

It's really lovely to meet you. Looking forward to seeing you at the upcoming Winter Bravo Bash recital! Come say "hi"! 👋

Ways to be kind ~ Be kind to your grown-ups and family members. Grown-ups and family members help each day be the most magical and happy it can be, as well as support us so we can dance and practice ballet each week ✨🩰. Grown-ups, is so grateful for all of your participation and support of our tiny dancers we wouldn’t be able to do it without you!! We can be kind to our grown-ups by giving them a big hug, telling them how special they are too us, making them a drawing or a card, or maybe even performing a special ballet dance for them🥰

Ways to be kind ~ Be kind to your hero’s. Not all hero’s wear capes (although this cute ballet hero does☺️) Those who have protected and served our country, are hero’s and deserve kindness. Today if you know or see anybody who is a Veteran be sure to be kind. You can be kind to Veteran by, thanking them for their service, giving them a kind smile, if they are a familiar grown up - giving them a hug 💕 Do you know a Veteran?
