The Bicycle Stand is stocked with beautiful refurbished vintage road bikes, new city and commuter bikes and stylish bike accessories. The Bicycle Stand started three years ago in the living room of Nicole Maltz and Evan Whitener as a passion project for restoring French bicycles from the 1960's and 70's. There was something about the natural beauty and charming details of a classic bicycle that made each project an individual character in our lives. Slowly as the parts built up, so did the idea of a full-on restoration studio. French bikes turned into Italian bikes, and Italian bikes turned into Dutch commuters - we could never get enough. And so here we are, young and filled with energy looking to share the adventures with all of you!

Alexandra’s custom Darren Larkin adventure bike. Alexandra was an employee here at TBS but has long since moved in her own directions. It was great to see her return when it was time to finish this project. The frame was custom made for her, and it was our pleasure to have it powder coated in Coyote tan and build the bike back up with the tastiest bits including a White Industries headset, bottom bracket, and crankset. The Son Edelux II headlight and custom taillight are powered by a Son SL connector-less dropout, and we cannot forget the Gilles Berthoud saddle or the SimWorks USA Super Yummies, all of which make this bike something special. We built this throwback cruiser for client recently. Nothing too fancy, nothing too original. This bike was brought to us dead in a box. Powder coat and pin striping can go a long way. This Townsend randonneur is just about our favorite bike this millennium. Stainless lugs and crown, JB paint, a quick front end with a soft bottom for all day/night riding. Handmade in Los Angeles, topped with Long Beach’s own Acorn saddle bag. We love to see local absolutely at the top of the game. Record/chorus 10 mix is a great balance of durability, weight, and looks. Peak Analog! We just went through the bike top to bottom and built a new wheelset utilizing Astral Solstice rims and aforementioned Campy 10speed hubs. The Bicycle Stand

After our friend Ben recovered his Surly after being stolen it needed some love. The frame had been stripped and scratched to hide its identity. This was a perfect opportunity for Ben’s creativity to shine. Took inspiration from the Harlequinn Volkswagen Golf and painted his Surly to match. We love it. Artifact No.40: Pagani Special Pista. Our client wanted this bike in its original livery after living a life in New York having been used for courier duties. A few dents, a pinhole, and frame alignment check before the restoration begins. We were happy to oblige. We chose to spray a beautiful sparkle silver that comes alive in direct sunlight. The fluorescents in the studio do not do it justice. Full build picks to come. Columbus drops and tubes. Very traditional and very sublime. This marks the 40th project for our in-house paint werks Artifact Design. Thank you to all who have trusted their special projects to us. The Bicycle Stand
