On the eve of our 17th Anniversary. I wanted to answer a question people asked me all the time which is “why did you start this open mic in the first place?” Definitely wanna shout out all my team members and everybody that’s TDSB@Alumni could not have did it without you. I definitely did not do it alone.

What a beautiful night we had together at TDSB last Friday! 💙
Grief is a heavy thing to carry alone, so we choose to carry it together. A huge thank you to Ra Avis and Asia Johnson for sharing their incredible voices with us, and to everyone who stepped up to the open mic and shared a piece of themselves. 🎤✨We’re so grateful for the vulnerability, connection, and community that filled the room.
