Dear Members of the ECWA,

After five rewarding years as President of the ECWA I am writing to share that I will be stepping down as President of the Association.

This decision has not come lightly. However, due to my schedule going forward, I will no longer be able to attend several of the key events on our calendar, events which are essential to our association’s success. In the interest of ensuring strong, active leadership, I believe this is the right time to pass the torch.

It has been an honor to serve this community. I am deeply grateful for the trust you have placed in me over the years. Together we have accomplished a great deal: We have hosted four East Coast Waveski Championships, three National Waveski Championships, and the Junior World Cup. We have also enjoyed countless social events together, events which have brought us all together. I take immense pride in what we’ve built and the spirit that continues to drive this association forward.

I am pleased to announce that the Waveski Committee has unanimously appointed Richie Guerrero as the incoming President. Richie brings passion and dedication to this role, and I am confident the association will continue to grow and thrive under his leadership.

Please join me in welcoming Richie and offering him your full support, your camaraderie and your shared love of the sport.

It was an incredible weekend of waves and community. A special shout-out to Waveski Surfing United, The Palmer Foundation & Bill Carone Cars for supplying complimentary food, and to all the paddlers who joined us with their waveskis and surf kayaks.

Whether you were out in the water or mingling on the sand, you made this event great. We can’t wait to see you all again at the next one! 🤙🛶

2026 Paddle Surf East Weekend
April 24-26, Carolina Beach, NC

Hello Paddlers! 🌊🏄‍♂️

We are getting ready for an incredible weekend! Here are a few important details to help you prepare:

🌤️ Conditions & Logistics

Weather: Expect beautiful air temperatures in the high 70s.

Water Temp: The water is currently a refreshing 65F.

Arrival & Parking: If it’s your first time visiting, we recommend dropping your gear at the Atlanta Public Beach Access. You can pay park at the Shell Parking Lot for the day, located just one block away.

Daytime: We will be hanging out on the beach all day! There are plenty of food options and stores within walking distance or bring your own cooler.

Join us on the deck for our nightly gatherings:

Friday (6:00 PM – 8:00 PM): Welcome Meet & Greet. (We suggest to eat before you come or they serve dinner downstairs)

Saturday (6:00 PM – 8:00 PM): The Paddlers Bash! Come hungry— appetizer food is generously sponsored by The Palmer Foundation and Waveski Surfing United.

This is your exclusive chance on the East Coast to bring that playboating energy to the ocean. We are looking for Whitewater Kayakers and Playboaters to charge the Open Surf Kayak Division.
