A lot of people reached out to me after my post last week about my inner critic, Francis. š
āØ
So I figured Iād share another strategy you can use to tame yours too: the Positive Psychology 5 āRā process.
First off, itās important to know thisā¦āØYour inner critic is made up of old lies + distorted beliefs that try to scare you and make you feel smaller than you are.āØItās just thoughts, not reality.
And if you get nothing else from this post, remember this:āØYou are not your thoughts. You can notice them, challenge them, and choose what you believe.
Hereās how to tame it using the 5 Rās:
1) RecognizeāØNotice when itās your inner critic talking (and what triggered it).
2) RefuteāØQuestion the thought. Is it true? Is it really true?
3) RemoveāØUse your imagination. Tell it to leave. It doesnāt get to stay with you in the moment.
4) RegaināØRemember who you are beneath the doubt. Connect with your inner motivator.
5) ReturnāØCome back to the present moment. Feel your feet. Breathe. Look around.
Your inner critic WILL show up⦠but it doesnāt get to
drive. ššØ
Save this for the next time your mind spirals. š¤

As I wrap up this year, I've decided I'm making two lists:
My f**k it list (things I'm not taking into the new year) and my bucket list (things I'll be actively cultivating.
My F**k It List:
people pleasing, fear, scarcity mindset, overthinking, underestimating myself, and self-doubt.
My Bucket list:
more authenticity, self-compassion, love, connections, play, laughter, manifesting, and joy.
I am not big on the word resolutions, but I do like the idea of intentions. Creating a better life by knowing what doesn't work and what does. Tuning into what stops me and what moves me.
Thereās something so freeing about naming it all. Letting go of the heavy, making space for the light.
So hereās my nudge for you: make your own lists. Leave behind what doesnāt serve you, and open your heart to what does.

Words that spoke to me in Augustā¦

⨠Today marks 8 months alcohol-free.
Eight months feeling more present, more grounded, and more alive than I ever thought possible.
So grateful I woke up one day and decided, I am done.

June was a big month for me. Lots of learning and releasing. Trusting myself and my path. These are some things that really spoke to me.

š 40- Day Yoga Sadhana š
Itās been said that 40 days is a sacred timeframe for transformation. This consistent commitment to practice is believed to:
⨠Form New Habits: Establish positive patterns on a conscious and subconscious level, integrating the practice into your daily life.āØ
⨠Break Negative Patterns: Shine light on and release habits or thought patterns that no longer serve you.āØ
⨠Deepen Transformation: Create space for profound self-exploration and personal growth.āØ
⨠Intensify Focus: Cultivate discipline, heightened awareness, and a deeper connection to the present moment.
Lately, Iāve noticed a sense of resistance in my own asana practice. Iāve found excuses creeping in, and moments of half-hearted effort when I do show up. As I reflect on the year ahead, one of my intentions for 2025 is to return to my mat with regularity, devotion, and presence.
In the spirit of new beginnings, Iāve decided to embark on my own 40-day sadhana. My practice will include asanas (movement), pranayama (breathwork), meditation, and journalingā¦simple yet powerful tools to realign and recharge.
Iām sharing this with you both as inspiration for your own 40-day journey, whether through yoga or another area of your life, and as a way to hold myself accountable.
If you feel called to join me in a 40-day practice of your own, Iād love to hear about it! Comment below or message me privately, and letās support one another on this path.
Hereās to our next chapter!
