It’s October 1st 🤯
This is it! The last quarter of the year. It is by far the BUSIEST, most stressful part of the year. It is the time of year where people give up, stop working out, eat all of the foods, put on 15lbs of “holiday weight” and say something like “New diet starts January 1st”... but not you!
You started this year with goals, with resolutions, with determination. It’s time to reignite that fire🔥 Its time to finish what you started!
So let’s close out this year feeling better than we have felt all year. Hit those goals! Reach those resolutions! Be the person you set out to be 9 months ago. You got this!❤️

❤️A great read and reminder for any mom!
This was sent to me the other day by a great friend of mine who knows I’ve been struggling. I burst in to tears reading it, relating to every paragraph, then finally it hit me! Someone else wrote this🤯 it has been widely shared which means other moms can relate to this🤯 which means I’M NOT ALONE! My feelings are not just my feelings. So many moms share these feelings. So many moms are struggling.
Motherhood is THE hardest job there is! So to all my mom friends, you’re doing great! And if you feel like you aren’t, read this, find a shoulder to lean on, an ear to listen, arms to hold you, find some kind of support and know that you are not alone! ❤️

Motherhood is middle of the night wake up calls for a glass of water or a fan or a light or a blanket or a bear or a kiss or a band-aid. Motherhood is making lunch after lunch after lunch after lunch only to find the healthy contents stuffed behind a car-seat.

These girls! 💪💪💪
These are my and they are freakin incredible! Last night I put them through TEN 3.5 minute fight rounds, which they killed🥊 Then SUPRISE (I love surprises😉) I had them each grab a backpack and I put on Moby’s Flower song for 3.26 minutes of squats 🍑 No one hesitated or whined, they just grabbed a bag and got to it.

COMMITMENT~ means staying loyal to what you said you were going to do long after the mood you said it in has left you.
Whether you made a commitment to your health, a fitness goal, a friend, or work related, commitment is all about the follow through. So even though you are in a different place and mindset now than when you made said commitment, DO IT! Honor it! And when your done you just might find yourself back in that happy, gung-ho, go get em mood that made you make the commitment in the first place💜

Alright, so that👆is my favorite quote/saying/motivational tag and you’ll see me use that hashtag with just about every post. I truly believe it and NEVER strive for perfection!
Buuuuuuuuut, if I want to meet my goal of a 25 minute 5k I need to shave some time. I’d like to get down to an 8 minute mile 🏃♀️🤯
Any tips would be appreciated~ do I eat before? What to eat before? Stretch before? Warm up before? Run at least x times per week.... anything is helpful. Thanks!

These two bad ass are proof of just that! Deb and Arlene are 65 and 67 years old and they show up, push hard, and GET IT DONE two-four times a week. I am in constant awe of these two and their dedication.

But not too shabby🏃♀️
Almost two years ago I set my first running goal~ to complete a 5k. After 30 years of avoiding running at all costs (I still don’t love it, sorry Jessi Johnson) I signed up for the Shoes & Brews Solemate 5k. Not only did I complete it, I crushed my training times.
After that my goal was to complete five 5ks ✔️and with each one I beat my previous time!
Well, I’ve slacked off the past few months, have been dealing with some health issues, and just making excuses not to get out there. But that ends now!
My new goals~
~to complete five 5ks before my birthday(July5th)
~to finish at least one under 25minutes
~to be a Shoes & Brews running ambassador
Now, with that being said, anyone want to be my accountability buddy? Or running buddy?

🏃♀️It’s not always about how far or how fast you go, but just the fact that you went🏃♀️
It’s great to set big goals but be sure to acknowledge and celebrate the smaller victories that get you there.🏆
Today was one of those days for me💪 I didn’t go far but that’s ok! You see, the last two times I went out for a run I had every intention of completing 3 miles.... but my lungs had other plans🤬 about half a mile in I had an asthma attack! A no joke, couldn’t catch my breath, had to use a friends inhaler, almost hit by a truck, asthma attack!😵😵😵 That had never happened before and it was TERRIFYING!!
Anyways, although I don’t particularly like running, I hated that I couldn’t do it. I hated that my body wouldn’t let me. So today I prepared for the worst. I borrowed my friends inhaler, laced up my ’s, grabbed my dog, and hit the pavement🏃♀️
Moral of the story~ don’t get discouraged by set backs. Use them! Learn from them! Then pick yourself back up and GO!

What is strength?💪
Is it bench pressing x amount of weight? Is climbing a 14er? Is it running a marathon?

Sports trainers claim that increasing your strength will allow you to run faster, jump higher, and hit harder. Physical therapists will tell you that increasing strength in a certain muscle will cure back pain, knee pain, or hip pain. And while that may be true, how about a simple definition? How about a single word to sum up, “what is strength?”.....

ABILITY. To be strong, to have strength, is to have ability. In life, in the gym, and in relationships. The ability to overcome the physical, emotional, or subjective obstacles that hinder our progress as human beings. THAT is strength!
