POV: Take a second to slow down and breathe. We’ve all been there… caught in that constant go-go-go energy. I used to feel like I was being lazy if I wasn’t doing something. But over time, I’ve learned that slowing down is essential. There’s so much value in simply being present, even if it’s just for a minute. Take a deep breath, you deserve this moment.
When we allow ourselves to pause, we help regulate our nervous system. It can reduce stress, improve focus, and make us more emotionally resilient. Slowing down isn’t about doing less; it’s about showing up with more intention, compassion, and balance for yourself.

Daily movement is one of my non-negotiables, and while it’s sometimes questioned, it always makes me reflect on the importance of having boundaries.
Setting boundaries can feel tricky… if we let them be. But what if it didn’t have to be?
Next time you’re faced with a decision, take a moment to acknowledge the situation and check in with yourself to observe how you feel.
If there’s even a chance that you’ll feel drained, let down, or upset, that’s your sign. It’s a NO.
Putting yourself first isn’t selfish. It allows you to show up even better for the people you love. But sometimes, setting boundaries can bring up guilt or uncertainty, making you question if you’re doing the right thing. That’s normal.
Here’s a simple way to check in with yourself:
🩷 Will this pull me away from my goals or slow down the progress I’ve been working toward?
🩷 Will it disrupt the routines you have in place for your health and well-being?
🩷 Will this leave me feeling frustrated, resentful, or emotionally drained afterward?
If you answer yes to any of these, it’s time to set the boundary.
Prioritizing yourself isn’t up for debate. You come first always.

As we approach spring, take this as a sign to check in with yourself and your goals.
✨ Do a weekly check in to track your progress and adjust anything that needs to shift. Small tweaks can make a big difference.
✨ Break your goals down by quarter—you can get so much done in 12 weeks. It’s easier to tackle a big goal when you break it up into smaller, more digestible steps.
✨ Make sure your actions have intention behind them. Our time is limited, so let’s use it to create and attract what we actually want instead of getting caught up in another doom scroll.
Staying on top of your goals and intentions can definitely feel overwhelming at times, but these things can make it easier.
P.S. - Remember that small habits and actions add up over time. Keep going even if your progress seems small. I believe in YOU 💖

I met my younger self today for coffee.
She arrived 10 minutes early and I arrived a couple of minutes late. She ordered a vanilla latte and I ordered an iced matcha.
She kept going on and on about crossing off all of her goals for the year. I told her that I don’t set goals anymore... I now set intentions that relate to the overall desires I’m calling into my life.
I told her I stick with three main priorities every day and I’m ok if I don’t accomplish all of them. I move them to a different day if needed.
She was really worried about getting everything done and I told her it’s ok to slow down but she couldn’t understand the concept of slowing down.
She had to run to another meeting shortly after. I went to the park to meditate and go for a walk.
I hope we can meet for coffee again soon.
I’m so proud of younger Bre. I’m happy to have discovered a way to live more intentionally and incorporate mindfulness practices. It’s has been truly life changing 💗🦋✨

Don’t let your plans get in the way of action.
It’s easy to get caught up in overthinking or trying to make everything perfect before taking the first step. But waiting for the “right time” or the “perfect plan” could lead to missed opportunities. Sometimes, the best way to move forward is simply to take action—no matter how small.
Living intentionally and incorporating mindfulness into everything you do helps make action smoother and more purposeful. When you stay present and aligned with your goals, each step you take feels more deliberate and impactful. Trust yourself, take the leap, and adjust as you go. Progress is made through doing, not just planning.
Remember that inspired action can lead to incredible results.

This year hasn’t started off the way anyone would have imagined. My heart goes out to everyone affected by the LA fires. It’s absolutely heartbreaking to witness. Yet, I’m inspired by how our community has come together to support one another.
As we continue to move forward day by day, let’s not lose sight of the intentions we have for ourselves this year. This is usually the time of January when our goals and resolutions become forgotten. It’s not because we don’t want them to happen; it’s because our subconscious is keeping us safe. After the excitement of a fresh start, we often slip back into old habits. It’s almost automatic.
The key to breaking this cycle is reprogramming how we think and act. We must align with the version of ourselves we want to become, not the one stuck in old patterns. To truly protect yourself from falling back into those routines, it’s essential to go deep and be brutally honest with your true self. Examine your patterns, acknowledge past experiences, and allow those feelings to surface.
It’s a commitment but it’s worth every bit of the effort. Just take things day by day and do what you can. Small steps lead to big change.
