Don't underestimate your database

Never underestimate (or forget about) your database.

Too often, I see realtors who are not properly nurturing their database and only focusing on brand new relationships. There's a reason why all the big brand companies want your emails and contact information. They know the business value of a database.

How often do you check in with your existing relationships? Or how often do you provide them with relevant information, or updates, that are truly valuable to them?

As we all seek to find new people to know, like, and trust us - let's not forget to nurture our existing contacts who already know, like, and trust us.

Set Boundaries For Yourself

Too often, the "hustle culture" promotes and glamorizes working long hours and constantly grinding to reach material success.

Of course, hard work is required for real estate professionals, but we can set boundaries. And we should, in my opinion, if our goal is to have a holistic approach to life and business.

It may sound cliche, but it's good advice: Run your business, don't let it run you.

Tracking Your Time Will Help You

TIME...it's a finite resource we can't get back.

As real estate professionals, and entrepreneurs, we should use it wisely. Most importantly, we should know what our time is worth - literally. Like, what is your aspirational hourly wage? Of course, that number should grow over time, but if you know what it is currently, you can track your time per sale/client to ensure you're meeting your goal.

You MUST Know Your Numbers!

Understand your numbers, numbers, numbers! I can't emphasize enough how important this is for real estate professionals, or any entrepreneur.

Is your business progressing? How can you sale more? What's working? What's not? Questions like these are best answered with data, aka your numbers. Many small businesses painfully go through ebb and flows and are confused on why they can't achieve the business stability they strongly desire.

After consulting many real estate professionals, this issue usually lies with a lack of ex*****on connected to their NUMBERS. For example, if you knew that 30 calls led to 10 meetings which led to 1 transaction or sale...then you can reverse engineer your revenue goals based on data.

Is this simple? Yes. Is this easy to do? No. It requires know-how, organization, and most importantly, discipline.

The one thing I've learned from being an entrepreneur is slow is the quickest way to where you want to be. As an Entrepreneur you have to continue to believe in what you are doing even if you are not seeing the results quite yet. This is critical. You are building piece by piece and this takes time. You are also learning, shaping, and molding yourself to be the person that your business will require for sustainability. Hang in there and keep it moving!
