Today is blue Monday.. known in the mainstream media as ‘the most depressing day of the year’
I’m not sure I believe this. I think we create our own destiny. Yes it’s the first Monday a lot of people have gone back to work, it’s miserable & cold outside. The sun goes down early and we have the battle of a whole week ahead of us….. BUT.
We create our own destiny, you create your own destiny. You have a choice each and every day to let others determine how you feel or take control of your life and make those decisions for yourself.
Remember that fitness is one of the greatest tools to elevate our mood and it costs NOTHING!
Go for a walk
Dance around your kitchen
Do 100 burpees or 100 star jumps
Play with your kids
Laugh until you can’t laugh anymore
Hit up your gym buddy and go get a workout in.
There are so many things you can do that will positively impact your day. The choice is yours and yours alone ✌️💙

Let’s talk NUTRITION for a min 🍔🌭🌮🌯🥙🥗🥪🍕🍟🍖🍗🥓🍱🥘
Food is not the enemy, carbs are not the enemy! Our relationship with food is what we have to focus on and change (sometimes) so that we are not scared to eat the foods we love. After all… what’s life without good food?!
The truth is everything in moderation is manageable. As long as you know what you are putting into your body you can either use it as fuel or do the works to make sure it doesn’t impact your journey.
Empower works 50% on the workout and 50% on your nutrition. In my opinion they’re both as important as each other. You need fuel for your body and that comes in the form of food and you need exercise to help you with all the physical and mental stuff too.
I like to create meal plans for the clients with foods they love! I’m not looking to get people eating food they hate.. what’s the point? If you do something you don’t like the likelihood is you will stop doing it. If you do something you like and enjoy there’s way more chance of your being consistent with it.
My clients eat good, balanced, healthy foods but still enjoy the things they love.

Morning or Night?! ☀️🌕
When do you like to workout?
The truth is.. I’m not a morning person but I love training first thing in the morning (except when I’m hungover😝)
For me it brings a real sense of meditation and clarity to my day. It allows me to switch off. Take some time for myself and clear my mind before a busy day of both managing clients and working on other projects! It leaves me feeling energised & refreshed. I also get this overwhelming sense of achievement. If I started my day, putting myself through a pretty intense workout and pushing myself to the limits then I’m unstoppable through my day!
Evening / night training… these shots were taken mid session last night.. some friends wanted to get a workout in and I couldn’t say no! I used to be that guy that would only train in the evening! It would help me wind down from a long day and help me to feel a sense of accomplishment knowing that even if my day didn’t go to plan I can at least own the end of my day and control the outcome!
Hence there is no right or wrong in this world.
Yes there may be some scientific evidence that supports working out early in the day increases energy level & metabolism etc but ultimately the choice is yours and you should go with whatever one leave you feeling the most refreshed, empowered and happy.

MORNING POST WORKOUT POWER SHAKE 💫 One of my favourite parts of the day is making my tasty post workout shake that gives my body everything it needs to function and perform at its best.

Simple but tasty!
Snack or lunchtime meal option.
Tomato’s, cucumber & some olives.
Season with olive oil, lemon juice, salt & pepper. ( season to your own liking and taste as you season to get it just right)
I absolutely love this light lunch or snack option.
Lunch can make me super tired if it’s a heavy carb lunch so I tend to go for a lighter option to keep me going throughout the day.
A fist full of cherry tomato’s, half a cucumber or 3 mini cucumbers and about 8 olives for an extra punch!
You’ll be surprised how tasty and delicious this is and what I love about it is you can throw in a protein option like tuna or chicken so easily.
Sometimes simple tastes even better!

Let’s talk about hobbies and fitness that is not a chore to do!
Don’t get me wrong, I love training. I love pushing myself to my max and being in an environment that motivated me and keeps me strong and progressing….sometimes it can feel like a chore tho!
What I also love is nature and being outside. Hiking especially!
Sometimes I need the fresh air, infinite views and space to just breath.
Mixing up my training is important to keep my mind clear and my body healthy.
I don’t train for anything specific, I’m not looking to compete in anything at the moment and so for me the goal is to enjoy fitness as much as possible and sometimes that means getting out into nature, using my legs and going for a hike.
I think we often get so caught up on being in the gym all the time and changing out body physically that we forget that there are many kinds of fitness and that more importantly it’s about re aligning with ourselves and making sure we feel ALIVE.
