Are you of low socioeconomic status, or do you lack access to quality education or healthcare? Then you may qualify for free personal training from a certified personal trainer at Barrier Breakers Fitness! If accepted, services include:
*Goal setting: Set realistic goals for weight loss, performance, etc.
*Programming: Workout plans based on your current fitness level and goals.
*Assessments: Testing to assess body composition, strength, speed, power, and endurance.
*1-on-1 or group training to provide motivation, technique refinement, and safe exercise practices.

Are you interested in helping lead a nonprofit through the startup phase and beyond? Do you need leadership experience for med school, MBA, or another professional school or program? Do you want to help your community by promoting/providing free personal training to low-income individuals? If so, please apply to the board of directors for Barrier Breakers Fitness! To submit your application, email [email protected] and include a short essay (up to 300 words) regarding why you want to help lead the organization. You may also email with any questions or if you wish to volunteer in other ways. We look forward to hearing from you!
About Barrier Breakers Fitness (BBF): BBF is a nonprofit organization founded by Austin Young to provide free personal training for low-income individuals. Obesity, type 2 diabetes, and other health problems are more common among those of lower socioeconomic status. The aim of BBF is to help reduce these problems by reducing barriers to living a healthy, physically active life.
