Are you someone who is looking to build strength and power in your back? If you are, I encourage you to add the Pendlay Row into your routine. The main difference between the Pendlay Row and a barbell row is that with the Pendlay, you pull the barbell from the floor and return it to the floor with each rep. The barbell row's primary purpose is to build the muscularity of the back and posterior chain and stays in your hands throughout the entirity of exercise. It never hits the floor. Therefore, when you compare the form of the two movements, the Pendlay row requires significantly more power, range of motion, and total body strength than the barbell row. Because of this, the Pendlay row provides you with more bang for your buck. I recommend starting with the barbell and focusing on form. As you feel more confident begin to progressively add weight to the bar. 08/18/2022
