As you progress through your own epic hero origin story there will come times that you push past your previous limits and achieve your existing goals. โฃ
While these are certainly proud moments of achievement, remember that every time you level up - you begin the start of a new one.โฃ
Completing a goal should be the indication of setting a new one. โฃ
The journey of health, fitness, wellness, and overall self improvement has no true ending - just incremental progress. โฃ
Itโs not going to happen in a montage -
so itโs up to you to find the time to work at it till you can stare down that next goal and tell yourself โI can do this all dayโ.โฃ

I want to share MY reason for becoming a certified personal trainer and why a certification with may be a great option for those of you in my shoes. Many of you were about what exactly I had to overcome to get back on track with fitness, hereโs my MRI. A half dozen doctors have looked at that and said that they arenโt sure, other than lots of inflammation and tendinosis, what was causing my problems, but they figured they should probably open me up anyway and take a look around. Even exploratory shoulder surgery can be permanently limiting to shoulder range of motion so I said no thanks. One doctor had a guess that my chronic inflammation could be an autoimmune issue (spoiler alert: he was right) which means I was right for not trying to solve it with surgery. Instead, by incorporating workouts from a personal trainer who specialized in adaptive techniques, I was able to strengthen the rest of the shoulder girdle, chest, arms, and back, with significantly less tension on my shoulder tendons, giving them far fewer reasons to get inflamed. They donโt always listen, but itโs way, way better than before. I just have to make sure to always adapt my exercises to the way I need them to be (for instance, all my bench pressing has to be done with a โneutral grip,โ which means I gotta do it with dumbbells parallel to my body). As you can imagine, this is a huge part of why I wanted my personal trainer certification. I want to know how to work my janky body in just the right ways, to make it a lot less janky, a little more? I dunno? Spanky? โ Anyway, reminder that you can do this stuff too, pretty easily, while learning online at your own pace.
