This common thought stops more good connections than almost anything else.

Who decided that excited is the goal?

Most of the time, excitement isn’t intuition — it’s intensity.

And intensity is often your wound being activated, not your wisdom speaking.

A healthy connection usually doesn’t feel like fireworks right away.

It feels steady.

Curious.

Calm enough to think.

Safe enough to stay present.

We don’t need a roller coaster to prove something is right.

If there’s decent attraction, real respect, and you’re with a genuinely good person — keep going.

Clarity doesn’t arrive in advance.

It comes through experience.

What gets in the way is the expectation in our head of how it “should” feel.

And when reality doesn’t match the fantasy, we assume reality is wrong — instead of questioning the expectation.

That’s where discernment comes in.

Get a reality check.

Speak to someone you trust.

Someone grounded.

Someone whose life and relationship you respect.

And then — keep dating. Slowly. Honestly. Without pressure. Dating isn’t about chasing intensity. It’s about learning to recognize what’s actually sustainable.

😉 Sometimes Hashem gives you a little wink to remind you that He had a plan all along.

Years later, looking back at my journal and remembering that trip, I’ve come to realize just how many little signs had been there all along. Even the people I was meeting and the connections I was making were part of a much bigger picture.

Hashem knew the ending long before I did.

Trust the timing. You never know what He’s putting together behind the scenes. 💍

PART 2 -> How do you know if a man is dating you for YOU?

You might hide parts of your personality, pretend to enjoy things you don’t, or hold back your true opinions because you’re afraid of losing the connection.

But what kind of relationship are you building if you have to abandon yourself to keep it?

You deserve someone who wants to know the real you, not a version of you that you’ve carefully constructed to be chosen.

Don’t lose yourself trying to find your husband. 💜 Check my stories for more.

Watch this!!! What an amazing advice! 💜

What are you allowing a man to see and experience about you?

Attraction matters, but it’s worth asking whether someone is connecting with your essence, your values, and who you are as a person.

Yom Tov also shares his perspective on commitment and why he believes women should be intentional about the kind of relationship they enter.

You deserve to date with clarity about what you want and the self-respect to hold to it. If marriage is your goal, pay attention to whether the man you’re dating is moving toward that commitment, too. 💜

How much should cultural differences matter when you’re dating someone?

There isn’t one universal answer. Sometimes, a difference in background or culture creates a gap that’s too significant to bridge. Other times, you meet someone who brings so much to the relationship that it’s worth exploring whether those differences are something you can work through together.

Pay attention to the relationship as a whole.

Do you admire him? Do you look up to him? Do you feel connected in ways that matter deeply to you? Can you genuinely see yourself building a life together despite the differences?

Give yourself the space to explore those questions before making a decision.

The goal isn’t to find someone without differences. It’s to understand which differences you can genuinely live with. 💜

Being single does not mean you’re being punished. It doesn’t mean Hashem has forgotten you, and it certainly doesn’t mean you’re unworthy of love.

Unfortunately, there are people who will make you question your worth because you’re not married yet. You get to choose whose voices you allow to influence how you see yourself.

And sometimes, the pain of shidduchim brings up something deeper: an old wound around feeling unworthy. Learning to recognize that pattern and change how you respond to yourself can transform the way you experience dating, relationships, and eventually marriage.

You do not have to become someone else to deserve love. You are already worthy, exactly as you are, right now. Marriage does not give you that worth. 💜

Are you open to being approached? Can you show interest without immediately worrying about how you’re coming across? Can you receive a man’s interest and let yourself get curious about who he is, rather than getting caught up in whether he likes you?

These are skills you can work on. And the more secure you feel in yourself, the easier it becomes to be present, receptive, and open to the possibility of a real connection.

So ask yourself: How am I showing up when I have the opportunity to meet someone? 💜
