16 years ago, Foxy & Fierce started with one simple idea: make kickboxing training more accessible to women. Somehow, that idea has grown into 16 incredible years of community, strength, sweat, growth, and connection.

Over the years, we’ve seen so many people walk through our doors. Some stayed for years, some for a season, but every single person became part of the story. If you’ve ever trained with us, laughed with us, cried with us, or pushed through one more round with us, just know we hope Foxy & Fierce left a lasting impression on your life the way you’ve left one on ours.

Yes, people come here to learn kickboxing. But the real magic has always been everything in between the workouts. The conversations after a hard day at work. The talks about challenges, life, struggles, victories, heartbreaks, healing, growth, and starting over. We’ve heard it all, and every story holds a place in our hearts.

Foxy & Fierce has never just been a gym. It’s a community. A place where women show up for themselves and for each other.

But the real power comes from ROTATION and CONNECTION.

I like to lay my shin across the heavy bag to feel the proper angle, sit down into the kick, and fully rotate through the target.

That contact teaches:balance, hip rotation, shin alignment, weight transfer and proper impact

Don’t just slap the bag.

Turn your hip over.Sit down on the kick.Drive THROUGH the target.

This exercise targets:

* Triceps
* Shoulders
* Chest
* Core stability

Key tips:
✔ Keep your chest lifted
✔ Bend elbows straight back
✔ Control the lowering phase
✔ Don’t shrug your shoulders

Beginner option: Keep knees bent
Advanced option: Elevate feet or add tempo reps

Modifications for Beginners, Limited Jumping Ability, or Knee Pain:

1. Low Tornado Kick Drill
Instead of jumping high, keep the movement close to the ground. Focus on smooth rotation and hip mechanics before adding height.
2. Step-Through Roundhouse Version
Remove the jump completely. Perform the tornado motion as a spinning step-through roundhouse kick. This reduces knee stress while teaching timing and coordination.
3. Use a Target at Waist Height
Do not force high kicks early. Practice hitting lower targets while developing mobility, balance, and knee stability safely.

Safety Tips:

* Warm up hips, ankles, and knees before training
* Avoid twisting on a planted knee
* Focus on technique before power
* Stop immediately if sharp knee pain occurs
* Build jumping strength gradually over time

Master the mechanics first. Height and power come later.
