How Do You Store a Bike When Not in Use?

• Indoor is best - Store the bike inside your home, apartment, or garage. Do not store it directly on a concrete floor, as it can draw moisture and cause tire damage.

• Lubricate components - Degrease and clean the chain the other drivetrain components. Lubricate the chain.

• Inflate tires - Keep the tires inflated to prevent flat spots from developing. If possible, hang the bike from its wheels using hooks or a storage rack to take the weight off the tires and prevent them from deforming.

• Got an e-bike? Remove the e-bike battery and store it separately in a dry, climate-controlled location. If you're putting your battery away for more than two weeks, keep it at around 75% charged and check on it every month to make sure it's staying at that level. Keep your bike in a dry location above freezing temperatures.
