Earlier today, the Nisei Week Foundation announced the postponement of the 80th Nisei Week Japanese Festival to 2021 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This announcement also includes the postponement of the 14th Annual Day-Lee Foods World Gyoza Eating Championship. While we make this announcement with great sadness, the health and safety of our volunteers, competitors, and attendees are always the top priority.
We look forward to seeing all our favorite faces again when it is deemed safe to once again hold the contest. Until then, please stay safe, exercise proper distancing and mitigation efforts, support your local businesses, and always .

The World Gyoza Eating Championship is saddened by the loss of one of our dear family members, Juliet Lee. She competed in three of our contests - 2012, 2013, and 2015. Her support of our contest as a top-10 ranked competitor helped build Gyoza to what it is today and we are forever thankful for her contributions to the sport. Our prayers and well wishes go out to her family at this time. β€οΈ

We have a new Nisei Week court record!!! Outgoing president Cory Hayashi and the 2018 Queenβs court collectively consumed 126 gyoza in 2 minutes at the Far Bar Little Tokyo Gyoza Chowdown amateur contest! The previous record was 97 total gyoza, set by the 2010 court at the 2011 contest, and held for 8 years. Congrats, ladies and gentleman! (π·: Toyo Miyatake Studio)
