Have you been keeping up with the Olympics??🔥

The games are beyond exciting! We thought we'd share with you some of our favorite heartwarming moments from the archery games and our thoughts on why we love our sport!

For some of us, we started archery because it enables us to be at peace with our inner selves. For others, it helps us connect with a team whom we love. For some, we like archery just because it really is gosh-darn cool!😉

Whatever your reason may be, you are always welcome to start shooting with us!

SAVE THE DATE for August 19 and join us at USC's Recreational Festival to learn more about Trojan Archery! ✌🏼❤️💛

This past winter break, our team took on a new challenge - synchronized Zoom practice! For the first time since quarantine began last spring, we committed to a schedule of live practices where archers could log on to Zoom from their hometowns or backyards and shoot with their fellow club members. These practices felt (almost) like being back in person again, and so we’ll be continuing these practices this semester on Fridays at 2 PM and Sundays at 10 AM! THAT MEANS WE START THIS AFTERNOON!!!

When shooting outside of campus, please be mindful of local regulations and health recommendations - while it is important to continue physical activity, we strongly discourage our members from practicing in inside spaces with people outside of your household. We also encourage that if you choose to practice outside at a public range, that you wear a mask to prevent the spread of COVID-19. If you choose to set up a target at home, please mind all safety considerations as recommended by World Archery. Don’t have access to a target for our live practice days? No worries! Log onto Zoom with a stretch band - this is also a perfect time for SPTs and for working on your mental training!

All other practices are the same as last semester - bring a stretch band or your bow to SPT night and bring a yoga mat, water bottle, weights, and stretch band to our team workout! See you on Zoom!

Congratulations to three members of our coaching staff - Alexandra Aloia, Jim MacQuarrie, and Max Zade - for obtaining their Level 4 USA Archery Coaching Certifications! The L4 certification was a challenging 6-week online course that took place during the winter that challenged our coaches to online learning and discussions. In this course, our coaches received training on coaching, communication, sports science in archery, psychology and biomechanics with a large emphasis on the National Training System (NTS).

We are so proud of our coaching staff for their continued efforts to further their knowledge and push themselves as coaches and as individuals - their efforts undoubtedly make this team the strongest archery team USC has ever seen!

Hey everyone! There's been a few update to our schedule for this virtual semester! Today's practice has been cancelled - for updates regarding changes to practice times please check out the calendar on our website. All other events remain the same - Monday Practice, Wednesday/Friday workouts, and Friday Zoom Social. We have some halloween themed zoom socials this month, so come check it out!

While we might have temporarily removed a practice time, we have added a new event to our calendar - Coaches' Corner! Last week we held our first Coaches' Corner virtual book club. We discussed mental processes and visualization, and how you can center yourself and focus on your shot. We had a great turnout, and we hope to see more of you at our next meeting - all are welcome! If you’re interested in attending the next session, it will be Monday, October 19th, at 9PM PDT (Zoom link on website). We will be reading The Art of Failure: Why some people choke and others panic, which you can find at the link below. It’s a much shorter read than last week, so give it a look!

Hello Trojan Archery friends and family! We are so excited to announce the election of our Head Coach for the 2020-22 school years: Dan Kwasniewski

Dan is, undoubtedly, one of the most enthusiastic members of the Trojan Archery community - anyone would be able to tell you that after just one competition spent with Dan! Dan has been with us as a student, a president, and a coach, and now we have the privilege of being able to call him our Head Coach. Aside from his commitment to archery, Dan recently earned his PhD from USC in Physical Chemistry and is now teaching at Pasadena City College.

This semester, Dan will be working hard to coordinate virtual coaching sessions for all our members. We can't wait to see what this year has in store for our team with Dan helping to lead the way!
