Did you know, chronic tightness in the body can contribute to our stress? The brain registers it as a threat to our safety and releases cortisol (our stress hormone.) If you feel tightness in the legs or the lower back, this sequence can really help.
Join me for 12-minutes of stress relief.
Grab a towel or blanket to go under sensitive knees, and two yoga blocks or a folding chair to use as hand levers. Then, feel free to share your experience with me in the comments!

I have been a stress eater – fo sho! So, if you relate to any of these, you’re not alone. Stress eating is the brain’s most efficient solution to a perceived problem or threat.
“Thank you, Brain!”
But this “efficiency” leaves us vulnerable to symptoms like… unwanted weight, high blood sugar, IBS, anxiety, and fatigue – all of which add to our stress and can leave us feeling out of control.
Here’s the good news –
the instinct to stress eat is a protective one, so understanding and appreciating this side of your nervous system leaves room for self compassion over judgement, which then opens the door to make a purposeful and supportive change.
In my coaching program this is where we start – with compassionately gaining awareness around the life circumstances that contribute to a pain point, or desired change.
This means – understanding WHY stress eating happens, and then solving for THAT so you become free to make new choices in your diet and lifestyle…
…ones that align with your goals.

You body craves rhythm. Mine too! For women – this is especially true for obvious reasons (our monthly cycles). 😊
In nutrition, that natural rhythm can show up as eating regularly or at the same time each day.
But with intermittent fasting being the rage it’s no wonder skipping breakfast has become so common.
My questions is… how would you know if this was NOT working for you?
Here’s a gauge – if you skip meals while simultaneously experiencing obvious signs of stress…
…anxiety, racing heart, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, chronic pain, brain fog, poor digestion, cravings for sugar, salt, and fat -
then your nervous system may be yearning for more consistent eating patterns.
Research shows that cortisol (our stress hormone) often goes up for women in a fasted state which triggers the “fight or flight” response. The body experiences a cascade of chemical changes, including high blood sugar, and increased cravings for sugar, salt, and fat.
There goes “will power”.
In my coaching program the overarching goal is to help women create a sense of ease – not stress – while making desired diet and lifestyle changes so “will power” isn’t the pivotal ingredient.
One of the elements I coach clients through is creating her own “nightly reset” to support a lower evening cortisol curve and get a deep night sleep, and one tool within that nightly reset is a gentle overnight fast.
This means eating a satisfying dinner, then fasting 12 hours from dinner’s end to the start of breakfast (unless breastfeeding or a medical condition requires frequent eating). Try it out.💚

Early childhood beliefs can stay with us, even when they no longer serve us.
Personally, I was a chronic teen exerciser who listened intently when a celebrity told the media that to eat a piece of cheese cake she’d have to add another hour to her cardio. So I learned that if I wanted to eat sweets I needed to exercise harder… and I did.
Giving up the diet mentality can feel foreign, but when you grow your awareness of these hidden beliefs, you gain the freedom to change them. 💚
What old beliefs have you shed for the sake of a healthier mind and body?

This is me, holding a magic wand – flying over my life creating desired change.😃💫
I was inspired years ago by . I'm not a painter (!!) but I believe we're all artists, it's simply our canvases that are different.
If you could wave a magic wand, what would you like to change in your life? How would you like to feel while changing it?
This Sunday, January 14th, to help you uncover what's most important and align chosen actions to make it true, I'll be guiding a workshop, "Plan Your Health With Me".
This isn't a "plan your next diet" workshop. Instead it's space to connect deeply to your vision, to define why it matters, and to create a personalized plan to get there.
Within this two hour intimate Zoom gathering, I'll walk you through both a creative and practical process. You'll leave with renewed commitment toward your chosen goal, and with an inspiring road map in place.
I'd love to see you there!

Creating a vision is the second step in the goal setting process. The steps that follow are practical, but this one is essential – it's our chance to connect to what's in our hearts.
Creating a clear vision of what we truly want is like placing a star on our map.
It gives direction to our efforts – provides the end point, the destination, and -
research shows visualization to be a key component in reaching a desired outcome.
Olympians use it, and so can we! 💫

Symptoms can feel like betrayals, and staying "positive" isn't so easy when you've got a health hiccup, a condition, or a disease.
If you're stuck in discomfort, or pain, or experiencing stress over a chronic condition or diagnosis, I send you so much support and strength.
I know total wellness isn't always our say. I feel grateful to have improved from my own crisis.
But within the many decisions I made to repair, what was most significant wasn't a surgery, or a protocol, or a specific diet (although all those may help).
It was the decision to advocate for myself.
To shift my focus from what I couldn't control, to what I could, and to reframe the thought 'symptoms are betrayals', to -
‘symptoms are my body's way of communicating with me.'
You can be your own best advocate too! 💚
That one shift can inspire you to seek new information, to hold new experiments, and ultimately, to make new decisions that you may not have otherwise made – with self compassion in tow.
If you feel stuck and could use an encouraging hand on your back, schedule a free clarity consult to learn what working with me would look and feel like. 💫 Link in bio.
