The skate plaza is still closed....

THIS SITE REMAINS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE PURSUANT TO THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES' SAFER AT HOME DIRECTIVES RELATED TO THE CONTAINMENT OF COVID-19.

The City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks’ number one priority is the health, safety, and well-being of everyone in our community. As we actively monitor Coronavirus (COVID-19), all Recreation and Parks facilities and programming will be closed from now till Saturday, April 4th. We may need to extend those dates.

Stoner Recreation Center is on hold as an evacuation center. As of now Westwood and Palisades Recreation Center are open.

Stoner Recreation Center is an evacuation site. If you have small pets, the West LA Animal Shelter is down the street.

Courthouse Skate Plaza at 8am-9:30am then immediately after at Stoner Skatepark at 10am-11:30am. A raffle will follow the cleanup at Stoner. Volunteers wanted! Hope to see you there!

Those of you who've skated Stoner long enough know Alec. He was the lead skatepark advocate to get Stoner built, along with a bunch of help from you locals. Thank you all that visit the skate plaza. Just one request, please clean up after yourself. We have one person cleaning the field, tennis courts, multi purpose room, gym, inside/outside restrooms and the skate plaza. This older gentleman needs your help keeping the park clean.

It starts this Sunday...

Breaking News: the skate plaza will be closing down...

This Thursday and Friday for refurbishment. Make sure you let everyone know so they don't make a trip down here for nothing.

Give it about an hour. Standing water at the plaza. Sun comes outs will probably be less but it's overcast in West LA right now.

Tennis Courts and Skate Plaza still wet from last night's rain. Once the sun comes up it doesn't take long but as of now, probably around 12:30pm.

Skateboarding Class:

Beginners: Ages 7+
Saturdays 9:00a - 10:00a
$40 April 16th - May 21st

Intermediate: Ages 7+
Saturdays 10:00a - 11:00a
$40 April 16th - May 21st

The sun is out and the plaza is ready for skating. Make sure to keep the grounds in and around the skate plaza clean.

Little wet from last night's rain... looking to open around 10:30

Thank you to West LA Neighborhood Council for getting the skate plaza open today. Make sure to keep the park clean guys and enjoy your long weekend.

Please understand that standing water in the skate plaza is a hazard. No matter how little there is, it can cause a slip and the city would be liable.

Be advice: Stoner Ave is currently close. Will re-open once payment is ready to be driven on.

If you are visiting Stoner Skate Plaza please respect the neighborhood, rules and regulations, staff and last but not least open and closing time. When you don't, you make the local skating community look bad.

FYI: the plaza is now open 10:00am - 7:00pm every day except Holidays (closed) or if it rains.

Should be opening by 11am. The sun just came out and it's drying pretty quick.

Skate Plaza will be closed tomorrow December 25th and January 1st. Once again LAPD and Park Rangers will be making rounds and citing trespassers. Have a great rest of the week.

Hopefully it dries up by 11:45 and it will open up.
