A light worker gives from overflow.
A light slave gives from depletion.

This is what a medicine man Gamal Abdel Sami Zaki (Cairo) told me two years ago in Egypt.

Then in a private session he told me I have light slave tendencies.

I knew immediately he was right.

The patterns I was cycling in:

Overgiving.
Overfunctioning.
Struggling to receive.
Tying worth to usefulness.
Believing rest had to be earned.
Feeling responsible for everything and everyone.

These are the patterns of many high-capacity people who unconsciously build identities around being needed.

Being productive, the reliable one or the strong one. These one who carries it all.

Then eventually they wonder why they feel exhausted, resentful, disconnected, anxious, or unable to slow down without guilt.

Basically when your nervous system learns that safety comes through usefulness… receiving starts to feel uncomfortable.

Look at your capacity to:

Receive support.
Receive care.
Receive rest.
Receive spaciousness.
Receive without immediately needing to give something back.

That conversation in Egypt stayed with me for the last two years because I could see how much of my own life had been built on pressure, hyper-responsibility, urgency, and overfunctioning disguised as leadership.

A lot of the deeper work for me these past 2 years has been learning:
how to stay connected to myself without constantly abandoning myself to productivity, proving, pressure, timelines, and overgiving.

Learning how to receive…
without guilt, without overexplaining, and without needing to earn it first.

What happens when a woman is a truth teller? A sovereign leader?

Mary Magdalene, who was she?

She was misunderstood, repressed, discredited, and exhiled because her teachings were DISRUPTIVE.

She was a leader. A teacher. A mystic.
A financial supporter of Jesus/Yeshua.

(Yes, the woman who funded the movement that becomes Christianity.)

Supposedly she was the first witness to Yeshua’s resurrection. A woman walked among the male disciples yet we’ve never really heard about. Also the woman Yeshua told the disciples to learn from… but they didn’t.

Mary Magdalene was the kind of woman that always threatened systems built on hierarchy and control.

What happened? She was rebranded by the people in control.

Labeled a pr******te centuries after her death.
Her teachings excluded from the Bible because she believed we all had direct access to God/Source. A belief that couldn’t be monetized or controlled.

Her gospel was buried for over 1,500 years. Her authority diminished. Her leadership softened into something easier, safer, more digestible.

This isn’t just about Mary Magdalene.

Many women still carry the contractions and wounds of what happens to powerful, sovereign, truth-telling women who disrupt systems, challenge hierarchy, embody leadership differently, or refuse to stay inside prescribed roles.

History has a pattern:
when women cannot be controlled, they are often rewritten.

Called emotional. Crazy. Dangerous.Too much. Unstable. Difficult. Delusional. Untrustworthy.

After many, many generations of this, women learned to question themselves before questioning the system around them.

That’s part of why Magdalene is so important right now. Because she represents embodied sovereignty.

She is someone who despite centuries of distortion, exile, diminishment, and rewriting…

she keeps returning.

Maybe because the parts of ourselves that are true can only be buried for so long.

Everyone is talking about more flow.

Real freedom is not constantly creating more. More output, throwing spaghetti against the wall. It’s building something stable enough to actually compound and hold your expansion.

The smallest shifts often change everything.

7 years ago my husband and boys made me this Mother’s Day song.

At the time, I loved it deeply…but I didn’t know how to receive or share beautiful things yet.

What most people don’t know is that before this chapter of my life, I was 36 years old closing down a business, filing bankruptcy, going through a separation, becoming a newly single mom, and watching my house head toward foreclosure.

From the outside, everything was falling apart… on the inside so many things were coming together (often the case during our stormy seasons).

That tough AF season taught me some of the deepest lessons of my life.

It’s where I learned how to create my life.

I realized nothing was happening to me, I wasn’t the victim. I was the creatrix. It was time to roll up the sleeves and make big changes. Ever since then I’ve had a coach or mentor in my corner. Some kind of structure to keep me focused when I feel wobbly and to help me discover my blindspots.

Back then I saw clearly that life could become something entirely different than what I had experienced before. That I wasn’t trapped inside the story I came from.

Meeting my husband Erik changed my life in many ways, but one of the biggest was this:

for the first time, I experienced what it felt like to feel truly safe in relationship.

Safe to soften and receive.
Safe to build…dream bigger.
Safe to become more of myself instead of less.

That kind of safety changes everything.

Happy Mother’s Day to the women rebuilding, reclaiming, creating, loving, holding so much together, and becoming in ways no one else can fully see yet.

When I built again to 6 and 7 figures, I had the strategy, the MBA, the structure…but there were still blind spots.

They weren’t so much gaps in the business. It was moreso in how I was operating inside of it (and my life).

That’s the part most people don’t see. It’s the part that REALLY costs you.
