The IP Games in Iloilo City (Panay Island) captured the spirit of cultural games and a passionate love for sportsβ€”concluding with the remaining matches and demonstrations (Pukol, Palosebo, Turtle Race, Pitiw/Syato, Patintero, Turnilyo, and Pana).

IP communities proudly represented their provinces in this two-day event marking the first time it has been held on Panay Island. 🏝️

The PSC Indigenous Peoples Games Laro ng Lahi - Photo Exhibit and Games Demonstration have officially concluded in San Jose, Antique.

The featured games were as follows:

Demonstration Games: Kadang sa Kawayan, Turtle Racing, Trumpo without Nails, and Fire Making

Game Competition: Ukbo, Turnilyo, Piol, Mat Weaving, Pukol, Lisik-lisik, Kadang sa Paya, Bayo-bayo

The Ati group bagged overall first place, followed by the Iraynon-Bukidnon, and the Cuyonen groups.

Students from Antique National School also joined the celebration and had the opportunity to try the indigenous games.

The Commission would like to thank its partners: Provincial Government of Antique, Gov. Paolo Everardo Javier, Office of Cong. Antonio β€œAA” Legarda, Jr., Office of Sen. Loren Legarda, DepEd - Division of Antique, and National Commission on Indigenous Peoples Region VI/VII, who made this event a success.
