Codependency is an adaptive behavior learned when our environment forced us to empathize in order to survive.
Maybe it looked something like this —
- Tapping into others’ experience helped you gauge your own level of safety.
- Finding the understanding to validate someone else helped them feel safe which in turn made you feel accepted and safe.
- Caring about others’ well-being meant you were rewarded.
Empathizing in itself is truly a superpower. To be able to relate to people so deeply and truly feel what their feeling is proof of our profound ability to connect.
But when it comes from a survival-based place, we lose sight of ourselves in the process and it becomes solely about the other person.
It creates stress in our body, and we feel panicked, tense, resentful.
That’s when empathy becomes codependency.
Breaking this pattern down starts in the body, and brings us to a place where we can still connect with others’ experience… but not because we HAVE TO.
Simply because we want to.
This is one topic we’re exploring in my upcoming masterclass series, Reclaim: Healing Heartbreak and Redefining Love.
Your ability to empathize, feel and exercise your sensitivity is great. Learn how to harness it. This is when all kinds of relationships can really take off.

The world needs your light. YOU need your light. But the light can be weird and uncomfortable and scary and 😖😖
When we have been taught our entire lives ⤵️
- Don’t go against the grain
- Prove your worth
- Fight for love
- Conform to fit in
.............
Embracing and showing our uniqueness feels like a total Hell No from our bodies.
Even if in our minds, we have big dreams, big plans, big beautiful desires.... it still feels completely unsafe and wrong to make them happen. Shining that Light is not an option.
This is literally the Nervous System protecting us from perceived pain. It’s survival. Which is pretty fascinating.... but not always helpful.
Establishing a consistent practice that brings you deeper into the body can help shift those patterns, create the safety and uncover the confidence you need to let that Light shine 🌟
You don’t need approval from others. You don’t need to work yourself into the ground. You don’t need permission.
All you need is you ✨✨

Doing *the work* doesn’t make you happy.
What makes you happy is the sense of safety and trust that you establish by showing up for yourself again and again.
Movement
Meditation
Breathwork
Journaling
It all creates a strong and reliable Self Support System, a container within yourself, in which you can firmly hold all of your emotions and experiences.
And that container grows through your consistency. You can hold uncomfortable emotions, recognize triggers.... and not feel so controlled by them anymore. Over time, the container grows so big, that the old patterns become small in comparison. You have room to access Joy, Ease, Abundance, Love.
It’s ALL within you. And that is beautiful. Your capacity to be with all of it, and feel peace, is massive.
Just keep showing up ✨

Yesterday started with a juicy 4 hour practice then went right into pizza in the sunshine ☀️ Taking at *least* one day a week to fully unplug and just be IN my life is my favorite restorative practice. Did you get any time off the grid this weekend?

Often the most significant transformation in our lives comes from Unbecoming everything we thought we had to be.

It sounds somewhat easy when people say we can just choose to change our lives. We can attract all we want. We can forgo self-doubt and anxiety because we have that choice, right?
Yes, but also no. We have the choice, but it isn’t always an easy one to put into action.
It can feel like a block, or like something is wrong with us. We know we have free will and can choose to be happy, so why don’t we feel totally happy? Why do we still feel judged, hurt, attacked, afraid?
This disconnect can be explained when we look at the body. The body is SMART - it processes every experience you have, and based on that, creates habitual systems to respond to future experiences.
This is meant to conserve energy. So we don’t have to *think* so much about our response when something comes up in life.
But we outgrow those automatic responses, and to overcome them, we have to go into the body.
Somatic practices can bring you safely back into the space. My coaching uses a somatic approach to unite the mind with the body, the conscious with the subconscious, through movement, meditation, breath and energy work. Your intuition wakes up, and you can SEE the root of that automatic response. You can feel it, deeply.
From this level of awareness, you can truly choose to change your life. From a place of Truth, and understanding everything as it IS. You have lived an entire life up until this moment, and that cannot be bypassed.
If you’re interested in how to apply this to your life, send me a DM! I also offer single 1:1 coaching sessions every week. Link in bio to book 💛
You have all of the tools you need! Your power is already within you — and you have the choice to wake it up.

I’m curious - What does healing feel like to you?
For me, it is when my mind body and spirit are in total alignment.
It isn’t really something I can articulate in words. It is a feeling that fills my body.
I often sit in meditation, and call this feeling through. I focus on the word “healing, healing, healing,” silently repeating it to myself, and see what sensations arise.
Once that energy becomes present and tangible, I am more consciously connected to it. It becomes real. I can more effectively carry it through my day.
We bring all of our desires into our reality through this conscious connection.
Conscious connection
comes from embodied awareness.
Through focus, and feeling.
Through uncovering the energy
of our desires
and bringing them to the surface.
So, think to yourself: What does healing mean to me? What does it feel like? Let yourself be still, silent, and see what comes through ✨

Something happens along the healing journey.
You start to do the work. You are meditating, you are moving your body, you are so in tune with your breath, your self-awareness is expanding.
And then come the pings and moments of really GOOD feelings, right? Like, buzzing, floating, so so filled with joy 💫
And you start to think that there is this version of you that feels this way ALL THE TIME, and you MUST become that person.
So, when a bad mood strikes, it’s even more triggering.
When a bad day comes through, it’s even more unacceptable.
Honestly, it’s exhausting and confusing - because why are you doing all of this work, to feel anything other than drunk with joy 24/7?
Here’s the big secret - You Are Human, and your journey is never linear.
But if you want joy, love, abundance and ease, you have to TRUST 👏🏼 YOURSELF 👏🏼 and trust that you deserve it, no matter what.
When you can be right in the thick of a sh*tty day and say to yourself — I feel this, and I still trust I am worthy, I still trust that all of my desires are coming to me — your faith becomes stronger than any emotion you experience.
Affirmations for you to use when the mood strikes ⤵️
✨I trust myself and all that comes
✨I surrender to this experience and open myself to Divine guidance
✨I am open to receiving all I desire
✨My emotions are temporary. Love and abundance are eternal. I am open to receive that Truth.
✨I am worthy and deserving. I am worthy and deserving. I am worthy and deserving.
Which of these resonate with you most? How can you soften more deeply into self trust and faith?

You can use the body to transform the mind. HOWEVER.
This involves 💫 Trusting Your Body
Your body holds great wisdom. But if you don’t trust it, you won’t be able to listen.
And we live in a fairly disembodied society. The body is seen as something to control and manipulate. Something we have to force to look a certain way.
It’s a total disconnection from the body’s innate wisdom. It teaches us to just stay at the surface - that our bodies are visual, and that’s that.
This was my experience for decades. I fought my body daily - so how could I trust it? I didn’t even see it as something I needed to necessarily “trust.” It was just this THING that I needed to control.
But the body holds all of our subconscious programming Our patterns, our triggers and our behavior.... they aren’t in the mind. They are deeeep, deep within. And if we don’t trust our bodies, we will never go beneath the surface to find them, and therefore, change them.
Here are a few ways you can use a Somatic approach to develop that trust, work WITH your body, and receive all it has to tell you 🙏🏼
YOGA: Spend at least 20 seconds in your pose. Giving yourself TIME allows you to refine your body awareness and notice more subtle sensations. It also works beneath the surface layer of your muscles, impacting the energetic body and releasing stagnant blocks. No more flowing through or using a pose as a transition into the next. Slow down.
MEDITATION: Focus your awareness on your breath. Drop into your body, and watch your breath as it moves. Notice - what happens physically when you inhale, and exhale?
JOURNAL: Write down your goals, your deepest desires, in GREAT detail. Get really specific — your dream job, how much money you make, your environment, what your home looks like, who is around you, how do you feel every day. As you write it all out, notice when mental OR physical resistance comes in. Do any thoughts tell you that’s not realistic? Does any tension in your body come up? Write that down too, and explore the resistance.
Be open. Be curious! Everything you need is already within. You do not need to control, manipulate, or force anything to access it. You just need to trust ✨
