In my 20s I kept waiting to feel ready.

I’ve opened applications for my January coaching intake.

Not for any other reason than that I don’t think I can properly focus on more than 10 more guys - I don’t want the quality of my work diluted - and this offer is just for one-on-one with me (my other athletes have their own special projects going).

Everyone’s arguing about this trend like the only question is:
“Is this healthy or irresponsible?”
That’s not actually the interesting part to me.
What caught my attention was realism.
I posted the “+20 lbs of muscle” version of this photo on Facebook.
About 95% of the people who saw it couldn’t tell it wasn’t already me.
I could tell immediately.
Because it’s my body.
And because I’ve spent my life staring at tiny differences most people never notice.
But seeing that confusion was oddly motivating.
Not because I want to chase a fake image… but because it showed me how close I already am in the eyes of a normal person.
And that’s where the conversation around “realistic goals” usually goes off the rails.
For most men, adding 10–20 lbs of muscle over time is not insane.
It’s not delusional.
It’s not a fantasy.
It only sounds “unrealistic” if you’re already near your genetic ceiling.
Ironically, that critique comes from the exact group of people for whom it actually is unrealistic; top tier competitors: the guys who are already living at the extreme edge of human potential.
If you’re an average professional guy with a desk job, inconsistent training history, and years of unused capacity?
You’re not capped out.
You’re not close to the limit.
You’re not “chasing Instagram illusions.”
You’re leaving a lot on the table.
The danger isn’t imagining a stronger version of yourself.
