Coach Famatta Dean reaches back-to-back finals. A Liberian female coach who keeps making marks. Last year, World Girls was relegated to the Women’s Second Division following their irregularities in the transfer of a player after finishing 4th on the table.

Following the relegation, several players opted to leave the team but Dean left with the team and stood the ground to convince most of the players to stay with them as they battled to get promotion back in the Women’s First Division.

Dean brought the team [World Girls] back to the First Division with only a defeat in the entire season.

The same year, as the U-20 Liberia Women’s National Coach, the team participated in the WAFU A Women’s competition U-20 and won third place after a brilliant performance defeating Guinea 🇬🇳, Sierra Leone 🇸🇱 and Mauritania 🇲🇷. In the semifinals, she lost to Guinee Bissau in a penalty shootout.

Back in the First Division maintaining team’s position in the league and bringing them back to the Orange Cup Final.

What inspired more is how she managed to awaken the team’s spirit after that sudden relegation. Massive impact

Your acknowledgment means a great deal to me. it inspires me to continue to strive for excellence. I am grateful for the opportunity it gave me to strengthen my skills and grow my career.

Firstly, I want to give God the glory for a successful League and all the achievements this year. 2024 has been a year of celebration in my Life. I dedicate my achievements to my mentor the late technical director of the Liberia Football Association Mr Henry N Brown who saw prospect in me during my playing days. Thanks to instructor Smith and instructor Tamba who have been involved in my coaching development… Thanks to the Liberia Football Association president Mr Raji who has been very supportive in seeing me grow from one stage to another. Today I am a coach because of these people.

My appreciation goes to my manager, who has been very supportive and motivational in my career, Pierre Littbaski. Thanks to the Liberia Football Coaches Association president Mr Barret K Karr, Robert Lartey, and Arab Fofana who have been very instrumental and supportive in seeing me through this process… Thanks to the World Girls family for affording me the opportunity to serve, to my entire technical staff and team, I am glad that we made such a good team and took the team to another level. The team has shown true dedication and determination, thanks to all the fans and supporters who have been there during this process. I am forever grateful!!
