Proyecto Pastoral at Dolores Mission Proyecto Pastoral coordinates five community-based programs. It has grown into a highly effective community-building organization.

Proyecto Pastoral at Dolores Mission is a nonprofit organization in the economically and politically disenfranchised community of Boyle Heights to empower the community. Proyecto Pastoral at Dolores Mission is a community-building organization that provides training, education, and social services within the Pico-Aliso/Boyle Heights district of East Los Angeles. Proyecto Pastoral Programs include:

The Community is empowered to address evolving challenges and practices of community solidarity. Proyecto Pastoral serves as a model for similar communities of empowerment and community participation in self- and social-transformation. Our History

Proyecto Pastoral at Dolores Mission was founded in 1986 by community residents and the California Province of Jesuits. Proyecto Pastoral is committed to involving local community members in the planning, design, and implementation of its programs. One-third of the Proyecto Pastoral Board of Directors is composed of local community residents responding to community-identified needs, enabling Proyecto Pastoral to make a significant impact on the lives of local families. Anticipating the community's needs enables Proyecto Pastoral to be an ever-evolving organization whose success lies not only in its dynamism but also in its understanding of real issues. Proyecto Pastoral serves over 8,000 children, youth, and families annually through its five programs.

🦃 Help us bring holiday cheer to Boyle Heights families!

Last year, Proyecto Pastoral distributed over 200 turkeys to help local families enjoy a holiday meal. We’re grateful to our Turkey Drive sponsors for helping provide nourishment, comfort, and a sense of community to families during the holiday season. ❤️

100 days of learning, growing, and celebrating! 🎉❤️ Our Early Childhood Education Centers celebrated 100 days of school with a fun dress-up day, inviting families to transform their little ones into 100-year-olds! 👵👴

Celebrations like these make learning fun, encourage creativity, and give children meaningful opportunities to connect with their classmates and families. A big thank you to our dedicated staff and families for making these moments special for our youngest learners!

Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day 🧡 Today, we honor Indigenous peoples, whose histories, cultures, knowledge, and leadership are an integral part of our shared past, present, and future. Los Angeles County is home to one of the largest Indigenous populations in the nation, reflecting the continued presence and contributions of Indigenous peoples throughout our region. Indigenous histories, cultures, and leadership are an essential part of our shared communities, and their contributions deserve recognition today and every day.

🧡 Our main office will be closed today. The Guadalupe Homeless Project shelters will remain open and continue providing essential services without interruption.

Kicking it off for a good cause! 🔴Come to Bristow Park in Commerce on Sunday, October 18 at 9 a.m. for the 5th Annual Mauricio Fascio Kickball Tournament & Raffle Fundraiser. Here’s how to support:

🙏 Want to put together a team to compete? Email your team name & player roster of 9-12 to [email protected]. After receiving a confirmation email, teams must send a $100 registration fee to secure their spot.

🗳️ Want to join the raffle? Just drop in and buy as many tickets as you’d like! Raffle items include LAFC swag and more exciting items, with all proceeds going towards supporting Proyecto Pastoral at Dolores Mission’s Community Support Fund. A huge thank you to for organizing this amazing event and bringing us all together for a good cause.

This Latine Heritage Month, we’re celebrating a legacy of community care, collective action, and building a better future together. 💛 That legacy is alive every day in Boyle Heights. From caring for young children and supporting students on their path to graduation, to building networks of community partners, mobilizing neighbors, supporting people experiencing homelessness, and showing up for families during times of crisis, our community continues to create meaningful change together.

En este Mes de la Herencia Latine, celebramos un legado de solidaridad comunitaria, acción colectiva y construcción conjunta de un futuro mejor. 💛 Ese legado sigue vivo cada día en Boyle Heights. Desde el cuidado de los niños pequeños y el apoyo a los estudiantes en su camino hacia la graduación, hasta la creación de redes de socios comunitarios, la movilización de los vecinos, el apoyo a las personas sin hogar y el acompañamiento a las familias en momentos de crisis, nuestra comunidad sigue generando juntos un cambio significativo.

When the Lineage fire happened, we got to work immediately, distributing air purifiers, masks, and emergency assistance. Thanks to our foundations and community partners, we’ve supported 434 families with over $390,000 for rent, utilities, gas, health care, and other essentials. But the need remains greater than our resources.

Our community should not have to carry this burden alone. Our leadership testified at City Council, hosted press conferences and listening sessions, and worked alongside Senator Maria Elena Durazo, Assemblymember Mark González, and Councilmember Ysabel Jurado to advocate for stronger support and accountability. This advocacy helped advance SB 716 and AB 817, both recently signed into law.

Our neighbors deserve more than short-term relief. We will continue showing up, speaking up, and advocating for a government response that meets the needs of Boyle Heights.

Cuando se produjo el incendio de Lineage, nos pusimos manos a la obra de inmediato, distribuyendo purificadores de aire, mascarillas y ayuda de emergencia. Gracias a nuestras fundaciones y socios comunitarios, hemos ayudado a 434 familias con más de 390 000 dólares para el alquiler, los servicios públicos, la gasolina, la asistencia sanitaria y otros productos de primera necesidad. Sin embargo, las necesidades siguen siendo mayores que nuestros recursos.

Nuestra comunidad no debería tener que soportar esta carga sola. Nuestros líderes han testificado ante el Ayuntamiento, han organizado ruedas de prensa y sesiones de escucha, y han colaborado con la senadora María Elena Durazo, el diputado Mark González y la concejala Ysabel Jurado para abogar por un mayor apoyo y una mayor rendición de cuentas. Esta labor de defensa ha contribuido a impulsar los proyectos de ley SB 716 y AB 817.
