1960
• The American Football League awarded Oakland a football franchise on January 30th.
• Eddie Erdelatz was appointed first Oakland Raiders coach on February 9th.
• Played first preseason game against the Dallas Texans on July 31st.
• Recorded first preseason win against the New York Titans (23-17) at Sacamento's Hughes stadium on August 7th.
• First regular-season home
game was a 37-22 loss to Houston on September 11th.
• Raiders record their first regular-season win, 14-13 over the Oilers, on September 25th.
• Tony Teresa became the first Raider to rush 100 yards in a game when he ran for 141 yards against the Buffalo Bills on November 13th.
• Finished the 1960 season with a 6-8 record.
1961
• E.W. McGah was named Oakland Raiders president on January 17th.
• Head coach Eddie Erdelatz was fired and assistant Marty Feldman took over on September 17th
1962
• The Raiders lost to San Diego 27-33 in their first game at Frank Youell Field on August 26th.
• Head coach Marty Feldman was fired after five-straight loss and was replaced by assistant William Conkright.
1963
• Al Davis named head coach and general manager on January 15th.
• Raiders display new silver and black uniforms in season opener on September 7th.
• Clem Daniels becomes the first Raiders 1,000-Yard rusher with 1,099 yards for the season.
• Raiders record their first winning season. (10-4
1965
• Construction began on Oakland Coliseum on February 1st.
• Played their last game at Frank Youell Field, a 24-14 win over the New York Jets
1966
• Al Davis named AFL Commissioner on April 8th.
• On June 8th, the AFL and NFL merge and make plans to have a common draft and championship game.
• Al Davis resigns as AFL Commissioner on July 25th.
• With over 50,000 fans in attendance, the Raiders lost 32-10 to the Kansas City Chiefs in their first game in the Coliseum
1967
• Raiders ended the season 13-1; the best record in AFL history.
• Beat Houston 40-7 to win AFL Championship on December 31st.
1968
• The Raiders lost to the Packers, 33-14, in Super Bowl II on January 25th.
• November 17th was the date of the infamous "Heidi" game. The Raiders beat New York 43-32, but their great come-back win was cut off by the television network so they could start the movie "Heidi" on time.
• Raiders lost to the New York Jets, 27-23, in AFL Championship at Shea Stadium on December 29th.
1969
• John Madden replaced John Rauch as head coach on February 4th.
1970
• Lost to the Kansas City Chiefs, 7-17, in the AFL Championship game on January 4th.
• The 1970 season saw the Raiders win their fourth-4 consecutive Western Division crown.
• George Blanda was named AFC Player of the Year.
• Raymond Chester was named AFC Rookie of the Year.
1971
• Raiders lost 17-27 to the Baltimore Colts in the AFC title game on January 3rd.
1972
• Raiders record 100th victory with a 26-3 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
• Won fifth-consecutive Western Division title.
1973
• Ended Dolphins 18-game winning streak with a 12-7 win on September 23rd.
• The Raiders lost, 27-10, to the Miami Dolphins in the AFC Championship Game on December 30th.
1974
• Lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers, 24-13, in the AFC Championship game on December 29th.
1975
• Al Davis named Long Island Athletic Club's NFL Executive of the Year on February 7th.
• On September 3rd, center Jim Otto, the last original Oakland Raider, retired after 15 years.
• On November 23rd, Oakland defeated the Washington Redskins, 26-23, in the Raiders' first-ever overtime game.
1976
• Raiders lost 16-10 to Pittsburg in AFC Championship Game on January 4th.
• On November 21st, the Raiders beat the Philadelphia Eagles, 26-7, to clinch their 9th Western Division Championship in 10 years.
• Finished with the best record in the NFL at 13-1.
• Raiders win the AFC Championship by beating Pittsburg 24-7 on December 26th.
1977
• On January 9th, the Raiders beat the Minnesota Vikings, 32-14, at Super Bowl XI in Pasadena, California.
• On March 5th, Al Davis was named NFL Executive of the Year for the 1976 season.
1978
• John Madden becomes the 13th coach in NFL history to win 100 games.
• Fred Biletnikoff retired at the end of the season.
1979
• On January 4th, John Madden retires as Raiders head coach after 12 years with the team.
• Tom Flores was named the new Raiders head coach on February 8th.
• Hall of Fame cornerback Willie Brown retired after 12 years with the Raiders.
1980
• On March 1st, Al Davis announced he will move the Raiders to Los Angeles.
• On March 6th, a judge grants a temporary restraining order barring the Raiders from moving.
• On March 10th, NFL Comissioner Pete Rozelle announced that the NFL will not schedule any games in Los Angeles for the Raiders.
• Center Jim Otto is inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on August 2nd.
1981
• The Raiders beat the Philadelphia Eagles, 27-10, in New Orleans at Super Bowl XV on January 25th.
• George Blanda inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on August 1st.
1982
• Raiders select Marcus Allen in the first round of the NFL Draft.
• Raiders play their first preseason game in Los Angeles Coliseum on August 29th.
• Raiders record their 200th franchise victory by beating Kansas City, 21-16, on December 12th.
1983
• On April 13th, a Federal court awarded the Raiders $35 million in compensatory damages from the NFL for anti-trust and bad faith violations.
• The Raiders hold their first off-season workout in the team's new headquarters in El Segundo.
• Ed McGah, Raiders General Partner and one of the original owners, died on September 17th at the age 84.
1984
• The Raiders beat the Washington Redskins, 38-9, in Tampa at Super Bowl XVIII on January 22nd.
• Willie Brown was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on July 28th.
• On November 5th, the United States Supreme Court upheld the Raiders' victory in their antitrust case against NFL.
1985
• Raiders record their 20th winning season in 21 years.
1986
• On February 27th, the California Supreme Court upholds the Raiders move to Los Angeles.
• On June 30th, the United States Supreme Court upholds the Raiders move to Los Angeles.
1987
• On January 24th, Gene Upsahw was voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
• Raiders open their new training camp at Radisson Hotel in Oxnard on July 22nd.
• Al Davis declares his coliseum lease void and starts talking to Oakland officials about returning.
1988
• Tom Flores retires as head coach on January 20th.
• Fred Biletnikoff was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
• Mike Shanahan is named new Raiders head coach on February 29th.
1989
• Art Shell inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
• On October 2nd, head coach Mike Shanahan was fired and replaced the next day by Art Shell.
1990
• Ted Hendricks was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
1991
• Al Davis presented with the NFL Players Association Award of Excellence.
1992
• Al Davis is inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on August 1st.
1993
• The Raiders beat the Vikings, 24-7, in their first game in the newly-renovated L.A. Coliseum on September 5th.
1995
• Mike White replaces Art Shell as head coach on February 2nd.
• On June 23rd, Al Davis agrees to bring the Raiders back to Oakland.
• On August 12th, the Raiders played their first preseason game in Oakland since leaving for Los Angeles.
• On September 3rd, the Raiders beat the Chargers, 17-7, in their first regular-season game back in Oakland
1996
• Raiders move into their new headquarters in Alameda on June 17th.
• On July 12th, the Raiders opened training camp in Napa.
1997
• Mike Haynes is inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
• Raiders name Joe Bugel head coach on January 15th.
1998
• Jon Gruden is named new head coach of the Raiders.
1999
• Former Raider Eric Dickerson is inducted in Hall of Fame.
2001
• Lost to the Baltimore Ravens, 16-3 in the AFC Championship game on January 14th.
2002
• Lost to the New England Patriots, 16-13, in the Divisional round of the AFC playoffs.
• Bill Callahan became the 13th head coach in Raiders history in March, after Jon Gruden was allowed to leave for Tampa Bay in exchange for a series of draft picks.
2003
• Lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 48-21, in Super Bowl ###VII on January 26th
