Do you sit most of the day? Drive everyday? Like to watch tv for leisure activity? Then this is just for you! The video is sped up just slightly đ.
Poor hip mobility can contribute to issues like lower back pain, knee problems⌠and it gets in the way of squats and other stuff you want to do!
Your hips are the center of movement for your body, so the healthier and less restricted your hips become, the more potential your body has for strength, power, and athleticism.
Here is a Saturday hip flow to open up the hips. Great to do before a workout or on a rest day.
Looking for someone to help you become more mobile? I have clients who now can touch their toes, get out of bed without throwing out their back, play sports with their kidsâ all because they decided to hold themselves accountable with my help. Drop me a DM to start setting up your plan today. âđťâşď¸

Coming from a background of having a serious eating disorder most of my teenage and adult life, I still struggle some days with an initial negative thought when I try something on or look in the mirror. Thatâs OK, itâs still night and day from where my mind once was. But to feel strong and confident because of all the hard workout I put in everyday, ya canât buy this or take it away from me âşď¸đĽł
#
Left, eating around 2200 cals with usual splurges twice a week. Had my regular programming with each week but then would jump in on unprogrammed stuff here and there. Which ultimately did impact my recovery and gains over time, because I wasnât eating enough. I was sleeping a lot though and learning how to really navigate progress while pursing coaching full time and becoming a better athlete. But gains were ssllooww.
#
Right, been bulking for five months. Almost up 20lbs. I am lazy at tracking calories on the app. But itâs allowed me to enjoy my life more đ Iâm eating for PERFORMANCE. No less then 2500 cals a day maybe more. Doing WAY less CrossFit, as in no metcon or having sessions where Iâm dripping in sweat or torn hands. If itâs conditioning Iâm breathing through my nose to keep my heart rate low. We want gains baby. I also went back to school during this time. Most of my days begin at 4 or 5AM, now Iâm lucky if I nap between coaching, clients and school. But this is adulting. May not have the sexy ab lines anymore, but who really gives af. I sacrificed my abs for stronger arms and legs. Itâs all apart of the process. I was so stuck to doing things one way for awhile, but had a realization that the process âof becomingâ is seasonal like anything else. I move way better and feel way better. Now if I do a Crossfit workout I actually move almost just as fast if not faster because I am stronger. Also, I am so close to a 200 # back squat when I thought this was at least another year away. Squatting has always been my weakness. F yes, canât wait for more solid strength in my future training.
#
⨠Moral of the story, trust the process, step back and try things differently. The stars donât have to perfectly align to see progress. â¨

Vulnerability & Growthâ¨
No one wants to be vulnerable.â¨
The feeling can be god awful, and it often leads to hurt, heartbreak, or failure. Or what if it will lead you towards the life youâve dreamed of?
â
Maybe you want to get in better shape before signing up for Crossfit(I hear this a lot) or build up more time on your resume before reaching out to that employer? Whatever it may be, we ALL struggle with combatting shame and perfectionism when it comes to pursing what really matters to us.
â
But maybe instead of avoiding vulnerable situations, consider running towards them. Out of plenty trial and error, when i am vulnerable, that is when I grow the most.
â
Staying put, even if itâs comfortable, often means We are missing out on the excitement and passion you can find in life. Showing up and allowing yourself to be seen for where you are at in life, is the first step.
â
6 months ago I had a badly injured ankle. I could barely walk and I was still continuing my plans to move to New York City when my father thought I was absolutely ridiculous and should post pone my plans until my ankle wasđŻ%. Well guess what, that s**t still ainât đŻ% but because Iâve relentlessly rehabbed and TRIED to make it work, put foot one foot in front of the other despite uncertainties, surround myself with good people; Iâm incredibly grateful to hit my six month anniversary being back in the city following my dreams.
â
I wouldnât trade this life for anything and canât wait to see where I will be six months from now. You can do the same, what are you waiting for? â¨â¨

To most of you this is just a s**tty bike that you hate riding on in class because itâs hard... I GET IT. đ¤Ł
â˘
This bike has brought me to my knees. Iâve allowed it to frustrate me to the point of tears, exhaustion and extreme discomfort. It is is a tool that has allowed me to break through many barriers and beliefs. It has helped me become stronger aerobically and mentally. If youâre a member at my gym youâve seen my Tuesdayâs with coach and how we basically slay this bike for an hour. Or he does and I literally am crying trying to keep up.
To my beloved assault, this isnât a goodbye. Coach and I have made the decision to focus on building strength. So no more tears, dramatic falls to the floor or holding my breath until I almost die workouts for awhile. Thanks for the grueling memories , I canât wait to create more when itâs time to get fast again. Until then, for the next several months itâs .

Shake up your routine, shake up your WARM UP. You can only grow đą if you are WILLING to go through being uncomfortable.
â¨Small changes over time = BIG THINGS â¨
âŤď¸try a new coffee shop
âŤď¸order that book
âŤď¸try those new exercises
âŤď¸eat the unusual thing
âŤď¸smile towards everyone
âŤď¸start your day with a gratitude list
âŤď¸ask that more experienced athlete for help
âŤď¸call instead of text someone
âŤď¸take a different route
âŤď¸stay offline for a day
âŤď¸drink tea instead of coffee
âŤď¸go to a different fitness class
Every Tuesday morning I find a new coffee shop up near mid town. Somedays I take different routes to work. Instead of my third coffee for the day, I order tea. Some days I throw different movements together for a warm up.. âđť
What are you going to do today to mix things up?

Shake up your routine. You can only grow if you are WILLING to feel awkward and uncomfortable when you try something new. Fight that inner resistance to change. Expand your horizons. Itâs easier then you think... start with small things..
