We took Reagan on his first adventure at “Old Zoo” today. The original Los Angeles zoo from 1912, now abandoned, is located in Griffith Park. Spooky and mysterious it makes me want to time travel and know exactly what went down in this place. One thing I know is that there was a meat shortage during WW1 which lead to the death of most meat eating animals especially the large cats; and a 900 lb polar bear named Ivan killed 3 other polar bears including his mate. Savage much? Now it’s just a graffiti covered park with hiking trails, and endless secret passageways to explore inside these (way too small and highly inhumane) animal cages. @ Los Angeles, California

Saying goodbye to the old me. We’re not friends any more she doesn’t know me. The old me is tired, over extended, and anxious. The new me has a fresh set of boundaries, a new perspective, and an ever growing self love. The best part about being new, is that I get to choose who knows the new me. Like a wave, life will knock you down. And then it will teach you how to swim. No longer drowning. Just rising.
