Adaptive sport opportunities for individuals with physical disabilities and visual impairments.

Angel City Sports provides year-round adaptive sports opportunities for children, adults and veterans with physical differences and impairments. The organization is focused on encouraging physical activity for people with disabilities and advancing the adaptive sports movement regionally and nationally in collaboration with programs such as US Paralympics, Adaptive Sports USA, and USA Track and Field. The annual Angel City Games debuted in 2015 as the organization’s signature event. Currently hosted at UCLA, the four-day event features clinics and competition in adaptive sports and activities including track & field, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair tennis, swimming and archery. Additional programs, clinics and events throughout the year cover an even wider range of adaptive sports and are open to people with physical differences including but not limited to: Paraplegia, quadriplegia, spinal cord injury, spina bifida, amputation, limb difference, visual impairment, short stature, multiple sclerosis and cerebral palsy. The organization also supports emerging school based programs through adaptive sports equipment rental, coaching education and athlete training.

When CBS LA and came to practice, Darren M Haynes didn’t just report on our LA Rams Wheelchair Football team. He got in the chair and ran drills 🔥

Our team brought home the championship at the 2026 USAWFL Phoenix Tournament 🏆 It’s the kind of competition Move United Sport built the USA Wheelchair Football League for, with real teams, real stakes, and the best adaptive athletes in the country. The USA Wheelchair Football League is made possible in part by an NFL-BWF Salute to Service partnership grant.

The Los Angeles Rams know wheelchair football is competitive football, and they back this team the way it deserves. Their players show up for our events, and they put us in official uniforms and helmets. We’re proud to wear the horns 🏈

We’re also grateful to The Hartford for providing our custom-fit sport chairs, and for being a partner dedicated to access for everyBODY to play. 💙

Meet Damon Whittaker 💙🏹

Team USA Archer. 2026 Gala Athlete Honoree. 2025 Hartford Human Achievement Award winner.

Damon brings precision, focus, and heart to everything he does, on the range and in our community. We are honored to know and celebrate him ⭐️

Today, Thursday, October 15th, also marks the anniversary of Damon’s accident. For many people who acquire a disability, that date stays with them and is remembered every year. We’re grateful he trusted us to share his story.

We’re proud to celebrate Damon as our 2026 Athlete Honoree at the Angel City Sports Awards Gala, and now there’s another reason to celebrate. Damon has been named 𝗞𝗡𝗫 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗼 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸!

Whether he’s competing, coaching, or encouraging someone to give adaptive sports a try, Damon continues to show what’s possible when you find a sport you love and a community that believes in you. As a Team USA para-archer hopeful and Angel City Sports coach, he’s also putting in the work toward another big goal: LA28.

Congratulations, Damon! We’re lucky to have you as part of the Angel City Sports family.
