The Bar Method combines cardio, sculpting, and stretching in a challenging one-hour workout set to music. The training session is designed to burn fat and cut muscle, giving students noticeably defined, toned arms, abs, legs and a lifted butt.

Do you know what the most neglected muscle is during exercise? Serratus Anterior. It's hard to pronounce but it's pretty important as it builds strength and allows mobility for your arm to move around in its socket. Living with a chronic condition like Crohn’s Colitis has been difficult. Each day can look different, and it’s been hard to find an exercise routine that I could consistently do to allow myself to gain better physical health and reach my goals. The extra weight from medications wasn’t great for my self-confidence and I knew I needed to find a healthy routine I could stick to. ✨

In October of 2020, I purchased an introductory special and tried to show up at least 2x/a week. I enjoyed the fact that classes are low-impact along with the emphasis on full-body strengthening AND stretching. This has allowed me to feel stronger and healthier! After that first month, I signed up and continued going to class 2x/week and used the given modifications in order to make some progress. As a chiropractor, I realized that many of the exercises and stretches are variations of rehabilitative exercises that I often prescribe for my patients with neck and back pain. I knew that this method of exercise was something I could stick to. ✨

Now, four months later, I try to attend class in person or online at least 3x/week and I have really felt the difference being consistent has made on my physical health. I finally feel more confident in my body, have lost some of the extra weight, feel stronger overall, and have noticed that even my Crohn’s symptoms are improving as a result. Thanks to the whole team at The Bar Method Roslyn for making me feel comfortable in a new routine, always giving helpful feedback on form during class, and providing the motivation I needed to get back on track! I couldn’t recommend Bar Method enough!"

Our Story

The Bar Method West Hollywood is online with CyberClasses on Zoom. The classes are interactive with Master Teachers who give tips and praise for the participants.

The Bar Method technique - the most targeted workout - stands apart because it is safe, smart and personal. It was created under the guidance of physical therapists to ensure it is safe and effective for students spanning a wide range of abilities including those with physical limitations and injuries. Unlike other barre workouts, our instructors undergo a lengthy and rigorous training that includes lessons of anatomy and hands-on adjustments. Annual certification exams ensure the highest standards are upheld across the entire teaching community. Our students receive personalized adjustments, modifications and encouragement to get the most out of every workout. It’s a workout that is safe and sustainable for life!

Bar Method West Hollywood was founded on March 1, 2005. It boasts some of the nations most talented and celebrated Bar Method Master Teachers, and offers over 60 classes a week. Its friendly community of (mainly) women of all ages is both welcoming and supportive. The results the workout offers for people who come consistently are undeniable and make for one of the Westside’s happiest places.
