Challenging the back leg to support body during movement while reaching balance point. Then it’s time to focus on back leg drive and throwing arm drawback. Good timing will allow weight transfer and compression on foot strike. This student was also trying to develop front leg SnapBack on release and catching his balance on finish. He is early in the pitching mechanics phase but progressing nicely. 👍🏼

Does your back leg and lead leg know what is feels like to support movement and compression? Here are simple things that can help the very young understand feel.
A good example of upper body rotation to enhance compression. The Student on the left upper body rotation is soft, upright and around. Student on right tries to copy with his upper body exactly what front foot is doing. Striding sideways and then rotating to land. There will be a delay on body rotation and compression since lead leg is leading and ahead. Upper body will rotate towards front knee and foot. This will maximize weight creating a greater snap on delivery.
Good drill to learn how to transfer weight from back load to front side on foot strike.

E9 Pitcher getting ready for Milwaukee Brewers Spring Training!
Got balance issues? When a pitcher is able to get to a good balance point and strides with good arms and leg separation tempo, they can create a great deal of momentum to use on compression and delivery.
Student is creating maximum body compression to deliver baseball with maximum velocity. Staying tall on leg lift will allow back leg to load on stride and extend on foot strike.

Engaging hips on lift will help load the back side so the body will have power to travel towards target and allow hands to finish their drop and the separation path. This in turn will create momentum for the hips and shoulders to use for uncoiling and delivering baseball effectively and efficiently.
