So much of Pilates is about truly seeing the body in front of me—honoring its patterns, gently unwinding tension, and supporting the shift from stiffness into fluidity. Every body that comes into the studio carries a story, and over time, it becomes clear how closely physical tension can be connected to mental and emotional load. While I don’t assume or define where that comes from, I approach it with deep respect.
Part of that respect means challenging the idea that aging is something to resist or diminish. There’s a strong cultural tendency to equate getting older with decline, but in practice, I see something very different. Strength, mobility, awareness, and resilience can continue to develop over time. Health and aging are not opposites—the body is always capable of learning, adapting, and becoming more at ease in itself.
What I find most meaningful about this work is witnessing change as it happens. With patience and practice, I see bodies soften, breathe more fully, and move with greater ease. There’s a moment when effort gives way to trust—and a reminder that growth doesn’t have to plateau with age; it can deepen.

Had such a fantastic class at the in Mountain View. I’ve really missed the ®!! 🔥

Still playing, just not as often as before - and trying to balance what I can squeeze in around family, work, and school between cardio, Pilates, and lifting. Pilates is the best though. My body misses it!

I’m seeing influencers and brands get their knickers in a twist about how to navigate the current climate – really the post that pi**es me off is what I’ve been seeing from lots of brands the “we-won’t-talk-politics-my-page-will-be-a-safe-space-for-you-to-buy-your-supplements“ post. Of course, I recognize that if I am ever a medical professional, I am morally and ethically obligated to care for anyone who walks in the door. The same is not true in a private business. Supporters of the current administration are not welcome here. I have conservative family members with whom I have to figure this out. But this is my space and if you stand for nothing, you’ll fall for anything. If you’re grappling with the moral failures of this administration, I wish you godspeed, but I will unequivocally say ice out, and hat tip to the brands that are doing this because, especially at this point, boycott is one of the only tools that’s going to work.

I was feeling pretty great today, the combination of strength training and Pilates has got me back to feeling pretty good running. And then I really stupidly sprained my ankle for like the 700th time at the park. Just the stupid recipe that has sprained it 18 times before: not looking where I’m stepping - was doing lateral jumps off rocks 🙄
The good news is that it’s a pretty minor sprain. With sprains, it’s really important to try to keep moving as normally as possible. For the first 24 hours, this means walking pretty slowly. After 24 hours, I can start doing alphabets, and after 48 some really gentle balancing. After a minor sprain like this, my goal is back to walking after 3 to 4 days and running after a week, but will keep you posted!

Why I don’t get around to posting much biz content these days:) maybe I’ll have more time in ‘26? For now, doing my best to be there for my clients, my family, and a little bit of school. And so grateful for our blessings ❤️ happy holidays to all of you!

Bone thoughts: You *could* get an early/baseline DXA or you could just do the ONE thing proven to fortify bones - amongst a host of other benefits -and engage in strength and resistance training🤷♀️
I’m a hypocrite because I’m doing both but I’m just curious and I’m mindful of the risks of over medicalization (when we do too much testing, we run the risk of false positives/excessive intervention).
(I realize the irony of this pic btw lol - I’m massively underloading for the sake of form. Fwiw - this was immediately post partum).

It’s still my jam ❤️ I don’t have any good recent photos because I’m definitely working out less and when I do I just haven’t the time to take a pic. But I remain so deeply devoted to this incredible work. Sure, cardio, strength training, and dancing are wonderful ways to move. But I’m not sure anything else has ever gotten me as strong and fit as Pilates, so I make a little time for it and maybe you should too?

There are so many balls one drops as a parent of two toddlers (and, let’s be real, as a human in this time and political climate). I’m all for pacing oneself, but also kicking your own butt is vital sometimes too. I haven’t gotten my dear husband into the studio in a while. Let’s do it, babe! 🦇❤️
