Like a moving target. Not sure if I’ll make it to the end, but I will try my best:
Hope you are all having a good day.
I wanted to ask a favor...did you already do your donations for the year?
I wanted to see if you might consider doing a donation for a contest I am in for Supermom cause I'm a little behind.
And the deadline to move on is 7 pm which is in the next 45 minutes.
I was going to use the prize money for Team Philippines curling tournaments expenses and training.
Would you by chance be interested in helping by making a donation to Children's miracle network? I think they are a pretty good charity.

You can also do a free vote. Takes 30 secs.
Thanks for thinking about it! Lol
Is Donna Umali a Super Mom? One deserving woman will take the title as the Super Mom. The winner will receive $20,000, a two-page spread in Woman's World magazine, and a weekend getaway in Palm Springs, California. Will you take the SuperMom crown?

Hello Fellow Curlers,
Donna here! I just wanted to do an update just in case anyone has 30 secs to spare today.
I'm going to share a photo from back in the day from Team Bond Girls. Believe it or not, I believe I gave birth to my first baby about a month before, which qualified me for this contest I'm in.
Today is the last day of the supermom contest that I am a semi-finalist in order to move on, and I'm a little behind. If you wouldn't mind taking 30 secs to click on the link and send a free vote my way, that would be incredibly helpful.
Again, I was trying to creatively raise funds for my Team Philippines Curling ambition and by winning the prize money it could help pay for training competitions, etc. I would like to play in the Olympics one day. It's kind of like a Filipino version of the Jamaican Bobsled Team.
If you have some time to vote, share, thank you so much for the help: https://thesupermom.org/vote/free/2024/donna-umali
It's free. You don't need to sign up for anything.

Hi Everyone,
It's crunch time. I have until June 6th 7 pm PDT to make it count. It's 2X votes for the Supermom Contest. Still in 8th place, but I have a few ideas on how I can climb the ladder.
Would you still continue to do a free vote for me today and tomorrow? Takes about 30 secs.
https://thesupermom.org/2024/donna-umali
You don't need to sign up for anything. You can do it every 24 hours. You can even do a donation for more votes.
Prize money will be used for curling training and tournaments.
I wanted to talk about my dad since it's Father's Day month. This month and next month (anniversary of his death) is truly the hardest for me. Over the years and flash therapy, the memory of his death has less of a sting for me. Let me take a moment to note flash as a method of resolving memories was so effective for me. It happened over a course of a few 30 minute sessions and what used to be a heavy emotional charge became just a video memory that I have. I highly recommend it for traumatic experiences.
Anyway, can I share some of my favorite memories of him?
He used to take me to McDonalds if he ever wanted to "treat me" even when I would come home and visit as an adult.
He always believed in looking at the details. Of course, it wasn't very much fun when it came down to inspecting the quality of my chores. However, I am grateful that he gave me that awareness. I apply it in my life.
He was really good at climbing coconut trees. (I lived in Hawaii.) Maybe that's my kids are little monkeys.
He loved to play chess, and would spend hours studying the board. However, he was never as good at speed chess; so I had a chance to win when he ran out of time.
He loved his coffee. It was the same everyday. Mom would always make him a morning coffee to go!
Once in a while, he would randomly pack us in the car and take us around the island. We never knew where we were going or what we were doing.
He would always bring home stuff that needed to be built like shelves or furniture. He would give me the instruction manual and leave me alone to figure it out. He believed if you know how to read, you can figure out anything, and I think in this day in age where information is available, I believe it to be true.
My dad's greatest pleasure was thrifting. He would see value in things that seemed invaluable or underestimated value. I think it was mainly survival techniques from living in a 3rd world country, but it taught me to use resources wisely.
I believe that even if I had more time with him and he lived to an old age, it still wouldn't be enough.
I hope that he is proudly watching from above and seeing all the application of his lessons and all the cool things I have been able to do because of his love and hard work.
Please feel free to share your favorite dad memories with me in the comments below.
If you like what I have to share, please consider giving a free vote.

Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if I could ask the Bond Girl Fan community again for some help. For the past month or so I've been participating in this Supermom Contest to creatively fund my Philippine curling aspirations with the prize money cause we are self-funded. Plus, I think I'm as supermom I can get with the 4 kids, 6 chickens, business, and international curling, and volunteer. LOL It's kind of crunch time, and I only have 2 days left to make it from 8th to 1st to make it to the next level; so I am reaching out just in case anyone wants to be part of this process.
Do you think you could help a fellow curler?
https://thesupermom.org/2024/donna-umali
If you haven't seen my posts before, you can vote every 24 hours. My next cut off is June 6th at 7 pm PDT. It's free and you don't have to sign up. It uses Facebook to verify votes. You can even donate to Children's Miracle Networks if you feel really extra generous.
If you've already voted, thank you so much for your love and support.
If you've seen too many of my posts, so sorry! It will end very soon. It's been kind of like a marathon that I didn't realize it would become, but hey I'd like to see it through to see how far I can get. Hehehe
Good Curling, Everyone!

Hi Everyone, I thought that you might get a kick out of these photos. This is a peek behind the scenes of what it takes to shoot an MMA fight.
I was a camera operator at LFA 184 on UFC Fight Pass at Commerce Casino on May 17th. I was hoisted on a scissor lift about 20 feet up. It's an amazing view. We need more Asian/Filipino/Women camera ops!
Surprisingly, there were a lot of KOs. There was a break in the feed where we had to wait until another ambulance came so the fighting could resume again.
If you think I am a supermom for what I do, please send some love.
https://thesupermom.org/2024/donna-umali
The votes are free and they are worth 2X right now.
You can do it everyday.
You can even send a donation.
This next round will end on the 6th.
Thank you for all the love and support for far! It's been a marathon, but the end is almost in sight...

Hi Everyone, Happy Memorial Day!! Hope you are having a good time spending it with your family. I just wanted to send an update. I made it to the Quarter Finals of the Super Mom Contest. Thank you for all those who have been supporting me this whole time.
There's the Quarter Finals and then Semis and Finals; so I apologize that it's such a long contest but it should end in a few weeks.
I believe I am in 9th place at the moment, starting out in the Quarter Finals.
I have 10 days left to accumulate more votes: Deadline is Thursday the 6th of June at 7PM PDT

This Memorial Day, I wanted to do a special note on my family. On both my mom and dad's side we recently lost a couple of people, Uncle Lando and Auntie Imelda...They were very kind gentle souls. I will remember Uncle Lando in his leather pants, cowboy boots and hat. I only met Auntie Mel a couple of times, but she was very sweet.
My dad was the first of his siblings to pass away in 2010, and he is definitely one of the reasons why I am who I am today. He is very inspirational, building our family home on top of a mountain and impacting everyone he met. I remember at his wake people kept coming to pay their respects and filling the area, and there was no more seats and people were standing along the walls. They came in their construction gear because they headed straight after work to waste no time. I lived in California so I had no idea how many friends he had in Hawaii; and it was a great big shock to me. I saw the most beautiful lei presented to him. It was from flowers usually gathered from the rainforest. You could find them along the highway. It was very light and wispy with yellow flowers that twisted and stretched about 4 feet long. It was an honor that someone took the time to make this special lei for him. I really miss my dad's physical form, but I know he walks with me everyday.
When I first received my Philippine Passport in the mail, I cried. I felt this really deep connection, like all of my grandparents, dad, and uncles who have past were surrounding me and giving me this wonderful gift to come full circle to my roots. I can now represent the Philippines in something historic by curling for them, and it was something that my family could not have expected when they came from America, but they knew that maybe life could be better than their wildest dreams. I would like to see what might happen if I keep trying and maybe some impossible things could be more possible than before.
I encourage everyone this Memorial Day to remember your loved ones in a way so that your past, present and future becomes more alive. I think that's what our loved ones would like for us!
Thank you for letting me share my story!
Please feel free to vote everyday and share this link!
Mahalos and Salamat!

Hi everyone,
I participated in this podcast The Parlor with Harrison Myles, and it talks about curling and some of my journey. Check it out. You could be entertained…there’s a little bit of swearing so maybe not kid friendly. Just a warning:

Whoa, I made it to the Wild Card round for SuperMom; so now I have extra time to make it to 1st by Sunday.
I apologize that this contest has a lot of levels and runs forever. HAHAHAH
If you want to continue supporting me until Sunday to see if I can make it to the next round, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks so much for all of the love and support so far. Please let me know if you donated so I can schedule some things for you.

I'm going to post a fun photo from the past:
This photo was my first taste of international competition. When I was on Team Bond Girls Curling, we were invited to play in the Glynhill Ladies Invitational in Scotland. At the time, I had a 6 month old baby (Leianna); so I needed to pump milk in between games. Good thing I wasn't alone because Team Croatia had a mom with a 5 month baby doing the same thing. Talk about mom athletes! I am super grateful for Paul who was a great support system during this time as well as the Russian Coach who behind the glass helped out Paul by carrying Leianna around when she was fussy. It was such a great experience to get beaten by so many world class curlers and have support from such an amazing community. I met so many people and made wonderful friends like Silvana Tirinzoni, etc.
This tournament was one of the reasons why I kept competing. I got a taste of this high level curling, and I wondered what it would take to keep doing it.
Thanks for letting me share! Crossing fingers that I get into the next round.
Feel free to share the link.
