Selling my racquets!🎾
"There’s also little concern with playing tennis, the experts said. Spacing is part of the game, it’s typically outdoors and there’s only two to four people on a court. While some sports activities cause concern for the health experts, tennis is not one of them. " Several Tennis Centers have been offering our youth players UTR Tournaments for 2 MONTHS now.. while USTA SOCAL Sits on their hands and makes weak excuses for keeping all of socal shut down. Sad. USTA SOCAL is a group of executives getting PAID BY THE USTA to do WHAT ??? !!!
Anyone in LA who would like to rally in Playa Vista? I'm a baseline, topspin player. About 3.5-4.0.
Anyone looking for a tennis fix while we are all at home?! Home workouts and coaching videos by Jamie Murray on his YouTube channel. Worth hitting the subscribe button.
Hi, To all our dear friends! These days are very challenging for all of us Coaches, Players and parents and we are all missing Tennis & the contact with our players. We wanted to share with you this video, bellow, that is made for tennis coaches who would like to keep working with their group lessons during this unstable time of the Covid-19. Wishing all of us good health and pleas keep strong and take care💚
Forward by Ed Collins: I'm pleased to share a camp instructional video I've endlessly edited over the years. It features dozens of past and present pros, demonstrating their skills, strokes, and strategies. In 50 years of teaching, I've learned that each lesson is more effectively taught when the student understands its purpose, sees it and can visualize it. Education is thinking for oneself--not relying solely on what you're told--and to learn a physical skill we think in pictures. This hour-long video is filled with graphic slow-motion, freeze-frame and live-action. In addition to the announcer's critique, a few graphics are added, to focus the viewer's attention. The title, Tennis (History) Lessons, was selected because it includes Bill Tilden’s forehand (first to win 4 Grand Slam titles); Don Budge’s backhand (the only American to win 4 Slams in the same year); Pancho Gonzales’ serve (record 8 years world’s #1); Rod Laver (the only player to achieve the GS twice). It also features Billie Jean King, Martina Navratilova (59 GS titles), Chris Evert, Steffi Graf, Bjorn Borg, Pete Sampras, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Serena Williams, and many others. Beginning with a music-driven, fast-paced collage of images, the video follows with sections on playing styles, fundamental skills, and technique, basic strokes, shots, and strategy. Interspersed throughout are points played and made. Examples of serving from, of course, Gonzales, Sampras, and Federer; groundstrokes from Agassi, Lendl, and Graf; net play from Edberg, McEnroe, and Navratilova. Plus there’s Lendl’s first Grand Slam win, Sampras’ 13th GS win, as well as the epic Federer-Nadal Wimbledon final, and much more.
